*Eddie Alvarez is NOT guaranteed a title-shot*

Maybe a Gray Maynard or Jim Miller fight before the title shot, or I'd like to see him fight Cerrone if he beats Pettis, leaves Gil to fight Bendo.

Alvarez-Miller is the perfect UFC litmus test

Yeah, this would obviously be the fight to make.

Although, I believe that Eddie and Jim may have been former training partners, so I hope that isn't an issue, because that fight would be sick.

alvarez shouldn't get an immediate shot. lets feed him to miller or pettis or cowboy or Dos Anjos or even varner

Alvarez is so overrated...He's a good fighter but nowhere near capable of winning the belt.

I saw a bunch of place saying Alvarez was guaranteed a crack at the belt. Looks like Gilbert Melendez is but Eddie will have to win a fight first before getting his title-shot.

I definitely agree. If he'd beaten Chandler it would be a different story.

yes. a few days ago an MMAJunkie article came out and said he was. it was updated a few hours later saying it was only implied, not guaranteed. that few hours, and it was too late, the word had spread, and as we all know, folks like to re-post what they hear instead of find the answers themselves.

Looking forward to seeing a UFC Top 10'er knock Eddie's eyebrows off.

Glad Gilbert is getting immediate match. Dude was patient as hell after the merger. Also, great fighter.

I would love to see Alvarez fight a top 5 guy in his debut to see where he really stands. Im a fan and love watching him fight, but Im still not convinced he is on the same level as the elite of the UFC.

i was trying to tell everyone the article said, we "intend" to give him an immediate title shot. which means.. well, exactly that.

Looks like Eddie is gonna be tied up in court for awhile. I watched his interview with Arial. Man, has he always struggled that bad to form a sentence? He seems to be struggling with his speech. Im just curious if he has always been this way, or maybe the punches are beginning to accumulate?

personally i think the winner of Pettis/Cowboy should the get shot, i would like to see Gi and Eddie both have one or two fights before a shot.

He doesn't studded at all... And I didnt really notice it in the video... If he did a little it may have been due to him not being sure what he could and could not say because of the pending lawsuit

Not so much, Edgar is a common training partner to them both, but Jim isn't with Almeida, he comes over from time to time like Eddie does, Almeida is both eddies and Jim's 2nd gym so to speak

And you're no where near being intelligent.... Obviously Dana white just said he's one fight away from a title shot..

LOL at the Eddie nuthugger.

Go watch the video again. Dana never said Eddie was one fight way. He said that Eddie would get a top contender...that's it. You have no idea how many top contenders he has to beat.

Eddie better pray that the top contender Dana is talking about is not a Maynard and then a Diaz...because Eddie goes 0-2 right off the bat.
