Was trying to think of all of the synonyms for "fake belt" that I'd heard in the past... Toy belt didn't come to mind. Mostly because I'd never heard it used...

Because Chandler got lit up from the opening bell. I didn't give him much credit for his takedowns that lead to nothing.

 

Although not an official rule if has always been you gotta beat the champ to be the champ and if you had to flip a coin to decide the fight then Eddie most certainly didn't beat the champ clearly.

 

So you scored round one for Eddie, a round where he was desperately shooting for takedowns that led to nothing...

For anyone that wants to rewatch the first two rounds.

 

only watched the fight live and thought Chandler just edged it out but thought it was so close it going either way was fine with me.

but eddie has the belt, he is the champ.

 

What they did was honestly the best way to handle a bad situation.

 

They weren't very desperate considering Eddie was out striking Chandler every round handily. The first two rounds could have gone either way, I gave 1 to chandler for the takedown and back take, but to say he almost finished it is laughable, that choke wasn't even close.

 

Alvarez is right. That interim is joke and just a blatant attempt by Bellator to throw a title on Chandler.
