Just interested on other people's thoughts as I'm not 100% of what I saw here...

In the first OT round of Ryan-Simoes [Simoes starting at back] at 12:03 it looks like Gordon Ryan tapped. Even the commentator saw it but Eddie Bravo didn't seem to call it ?!

Not to suggest Gordon Ryan is a cheat but it is common for grapplers to half-tap during matches in hesitation, and then change their minds if nobody notices it ....Does anyone else think he tapped ?!

the angle is not optimal, I was sure he did when watching live, now, I dont know.

I didn't think it was a tap when watching it live and I don't think it is watching now either.

Yeah I've watched it a few times and from the angle, it doesn't look like he tapped .

Good match anyhow, cheers for your take on it guys.

Look likes his wrist just flailed a bit. Eddie Bravo was in perfect position to see it if he did.

When I watched it live I thought it was just a floppy wrist, but maybe who knows?. Still feel about the same.

I thought he tapped for a second but not sure.

cant say for sure, COULD BE a tap but i think it was a wris movement, the camera angle wont help but if eddie who was the ref didnt call it a tap well IT'S NOT A TAP.

From that first angle when you see the "tap" it looks like his hand is up by Yuri's arm but it quickly changes cameras and you can see that Gordon's hand was actually down around his torso. After looking at it, it seemed to me that the hand movement was just due to indecision over if he should go defend his neck or go get that hook out to escape.

I thought it was a tap. He was in pain. But it didn't look like Yuri stopped because of the "tap". Maybe it was a Royce vs Sakuraba "non-tap". Seriously though I can't tell from the replay either.

have you ever tapped? Do you ever tap then just completely not care about being choked?

This is not a tap IMO
