well i am getting the cauli so i'm looking into buying some ear protection anyone have advice on good ones to buy. are there sizes to them? is it legal to use the chin straps to choke me out? any help would be apreciated, thanks.

I've never actually seen it spelled out in tournament rules if you can use headgear to choke someone out. My guess is you can't.

If I were you I wouldn't wear it for competition anyway. It would make it basically impossible to pull out of guillotines, triangles, and headlocks.

As far as recommendations, Asics, Brute, and Cliff Keen make good ones. Choosing a particular model comes down to personal preference. The nice thing about wrestling in HS is the team gets new headgear every couple years so you can try different kinds and see what you like, and what fits your head the best. I guess just pick what looks most comfortable to you. I don't wear head gear, but if got someI might try these . They probably aren't the most protective, but probably the lowest profile for slipping out of headlocks.

Usually the only sizes are child and adult, they are adjustable to fit just about any size head.

Cliff Keen F5 Tornado... they are around $30 and come in about 8000 different colors. Light weight, easily adjustable, easy washable, durable as hell.

Just wondering about the cauli... how long have you been training and what kind of training are you doing?
