Opinion Dylan Ratigan says America is a third-world country without New Silicon Valley Hollywood Wall Street

Or did I miss Nigeria having a fleet of ballistic missile subs?
Hi, I am a banker for a deceased Nigerian Prince. He asked me to manage his estate but did not want to give his ballistic submarine to any of his greedy relatives. They want money only.
He asked me to choose a name of a noble man and give him the submarine.
@Dan O if you send me a check through Western Union for $25,000 American Dollars, which is only to take care of the delivery of the ballistic submarine. Once I receive the check, then send me your address and I will deliver the submarine.
Sincerely,
Banker for the late and great Prince Akeem.

lol I am not a fucking right winger and how stupid can you be to say debt doesn’t matter. Once trust goes in a currency it collapses, same goes of course for the euro by the way.
If it collapses during this crisis I am not sure of course but one thing is certain: all this money printing and bailing out big corporations makes your dollar purchasing power diminish each and every day
You may not be a right winger but this is a right wing talking point. They have been repeating this ad nauseum for decades and the collapse is always just right around the corner, yet it never happens.

Come for what bruh?

Russia is already in the Arctic and trying to reclaim lost Soviet satellite states. China is building missile sites all over the South China Sea and expanding into Africa and the Pacific. Are you expecting them to try to occupy Indiana or something?

since the simulations show they can easily take us in war why not just take us quick and bend us over and asset their dominance. They will wipe us off the map and be the clear cut #1 undisputed heavyweight champion.

I've said it before, foreigners minds boggle when we hear US people unironically talking about "socialists" or "the left" as many Sherdoggers do here.

Neither of those things exist in the US.

The whole US spectrum is Center Right and Conservative Right. A 19th Century British Empire for the modern age.

Yup, the overton window in the US is shifted so far to the right that when someone comes along advocating for the same policies as other capitalist nations (Germany, Sweden, Norway, Denmark), they are called socialists.

“In our games, when we fight Russia and China … blue gets its ass handed to it,” RAND senior researcher David Ochmanek said during a panel discussion at the Center for a New American Security think tank last week.

That interview is very myopic in the theater of exercises. It speaks to my previous post.

There's stuff we just can't talk about.

Just trust me on what I say - we lose because of the game - not because we lack the capability.

When they start talking about MDO it's artificial. In open source forums we just can't talk about what we can do. We can't talk about how we do it.

And in these exercises the enemy has no limits and functions in perfect synchronicity. The reality of war is that Russia and China are largely untested. The United States is in a constant state of warfare with continuous improvements. These other 2 major powers really haven't been tested. They lack the ability to test their logistics, practice force projection, and don't practice continuous warfare.

I have no idea who Dylan Ratigan is but he sounds like an idiot. Silicon valley has it's benefits but there are many elements t that make America successful and it was doing pretty good before Silicon Valley was a thing. Ratigans moronic rhetoric is a backdoor attempt to claim that only things run by leftists add value and pretend that it would exist without all the other elements that make it possible. The nuclear family, a mix of Judeo-Christian morality, individual liberty, enlightenment ideas, massive military spending, the oil industry, entrepreneurship, capitalism, and plenty of other things also make a contribution to Americas success.

Currencies fall every time. The lifespan of previous currencies (like the British pound) was between 80-120 years or so. Hate to break it to you but the dollar is on his last legs and wouldn’t be surprised if it happens within 3-5 years.

Sounds like Dylan Ratigan has never been to an actual underdeveloped country.

also, do people still use “1st world, 3rd world” when referring to countries? I haven’t heard those officially used in decades. Like since post-Berlin Wall dismantling.

1st World, etc is Cold War terminology. The First World is primarily, but not exclusively the US and western Europe. The Second World is the USSR and the Warsaw Pact countries. The Third World is India, Pakistan, and other unaffiliated countries, including France at times.

First World now means an industrialized society with a high standard of living while Third World now refers to poorly run and underdeveloped countries. You can see a lot of the confusion inherent in the transition of meaning in this very thread.

yeah, my sarcasm wasn’t too obvious. I’m just surprised people still use it. I actually have a PhD in Comparative History; I simply don’t hear it anymore. It’s more common these days to use “developed” and “under developed”. But like a lot of phrases/words, they come back into fashion now and again.

Hard to imagine the powers that be letting that happen. No stable US currency, no vehicle to funnel trillions of dollars in wealth to the ultra elites. Also, people have been making your exact same prediction for decades. Alex Jones has been saying it since the early 2000s. Its just right around the corner! Just a few years away! The petro-dollar is about to collapse! And it doesn't happen.

I take it that you didn't watch the video. He didn't glorify "leftists" at all.

But I can tell you that nuclear family, Christianity, and the like has nothing to do with anything. You are just saying buzz words. This stuff has no meaning.

Judeo-Christian morality, individual liberty, enlightenment ideas

These do not blend together, they're in opposition.

Leftists are responsible for Silicon Valley? I'd put it down to genius people and the US Department of Defense tbh. People tend to think modern soft tech corporations when that nickname is uttered but it's really, literally the semiconductor industry that formed the core of it and modern tech on the whole. I doubt many people would consider Shockley a "leftist".

William Bradford Shockley Jr. (February 13, 1910 – August 12, 1989) was an American physicist and inventor. Shockley was the manager of a research group at Bell Labs that included John Bardeen and Walter Brattain. The three scientists were jointly awarded the 1956 Nobel Prize in Physics for their research on semiconductors and discovery of the transistor effect.

Shockley's attempts to commercialize a new transistor design in the 1950s led to California's Silicon Valley becoming a hotbed of electronics innovation. In 1956, Shockley moved from New Jersey to Mountain View, California to start Shockley Semiconductor Laboratory. The company, a division of Beckman Instruments, was the first establishment working on semiconductor devices in what came to be known as Silicon Valley.

Later in his life, Shockley became intensely interested in questions of race, human intelligence, and eugenics. He thought this work was important to the future of the human species and came to describe it as the most significant of his career, even though expressing these views damaged his reputation. Shockley argued that a higher rate of reproduction among the less intelligent was having a dysgenic effect, and that a drop in average intelligence would ultimately lead to a decline in civilization.

ok got it. Just because it’s being said for quite some time it’s never going to happen... and history does not repeat itself!

You keep al your savings in dollars and let’s see how happy you will be in a few years

I'm not really a believer in having savings and investments centralized all in one place. I would rather own land/acreage, ammunition, a little bit of gold, cryptocurrency and a mix of index funds, money market accounts and a handful of select stocks.

you are wrong about the future of your dollar (that is why bitcoin is such a good bet), but at least you are diversified

Bitcoin is at roughly ~50% of its all time high and highly volatile, and crypto markets are subject to massive amounts of manipulation due to the lack of regulation and institutional investment.

One of the reasons Btc was created was because of the flaws in the financial system.

Hell, even Paul Tudor Jones said this week, that btc is a good hedge against fiat currency.

believe me btc has a very bright future
