Not many comedies I'd put over dumb and dumber but Mary is one of them.

I love them both, but I don't know if I've ever laughed harder than I did when I first saw Dumb & Dumber in the theater. Something about Mary is a fucking great movie, but D&D holds a special place in my heart.

Both very funny movies.
I have never had an experience the likes of when I saw SAM. Me my best friend and a couple of dumb dates. The theater was raucous we were super stoned, sooooooo many fucking laughs. I will never forget my bro uncontrollably busting up kicking the seat in front of him. Dude turned around like WTF but saw the unbridled giggles we were having and couldn't even be mad, he gave him a high five. We laughed so hard during that movie it was like exercising demons from our souls. Im smiling right now typing and remembering this.
Only movie that made me lose my shit remotely like that was when I watched Raising Arizona with my grandfather on VHS many years prior.
So yeah, Something About Mary gets my vote.

D&D by a wide margin.

TSAM is still pretty good, but it lulls in romantic comedy tropes, like a sitcom. D&D makes use of those tropes and adds to it's comedy.

D&D is all killer and no filler. TSAM is 75% killer.

I picked Dumb and Dumber, because I was really into Jim Carrey as a kid. The Ace Ventura tape was replayed almost religiously on a daily basis.

Something About Mary had a lot of play time on ITV back in the day, but I was quite young for it. I wouldn't mind watching it as an adult.
