No surprise there. His in ring ability has always been on point in the WWE and he was easily one of the more technically sound wrestlers on the roster. I'm sure that wouldn't be the case if he didn't have a great work ethic.

Does anyone think CM Punk could beat any fighter in the UFC MW division currently?

    I'm optimistic.

Obviosuly, the guy lacks the years of training, which is huge.

But, the dude has everything else going for him, that most amateurs don't.

-Money. He has all the money to give him the best resources to become a fighter. Little things like nutritionists, personal trainers, physical therapy, those weird freezing chambers, acupuncture, massage, etc. The list goes on. Little things like that might not sound like a big deal, but they can add up. No up and coming fighter had/has these things at their disposal.

-Spotlight experience- One thing every fighter talks about when it comes to the UFC is the huge spotlight and crowd. Many often freeze up. CM Punk has been in front of millions before and he's had no issues handling it. Sure, he wasn't getting punched in the face, but not having those jitters can help a lot.

-Elite camp- He's getting elite training with some of the best fighters in the world. He has an elite striking coach and some of the best MMA wrestlers in the world at that gym. He's also going to be a priority, he isn't some no name beginner that isn't getting focused on. This can make Duke look like a GOD amongst MMA coaches if he can make CM Punk a legit fighter in 6 months, so you know Duke is going to really take this seriously.

-Experience as an athlete- Yes, I know WWF is fake, but the guys still have to be in elite shape and stay mentally strong with that horrible schedule. He's no stranger to the gym, he's no stranger to working hard. This isn't some schmo' with Dorito residue on hit fingers walking into the UFC, it's a somewhat respectable athlete with at least a certain level of athletic ability.

Of course, there are the big questions. Can he take a punch? etc.

I strongly believe he won't look like a joke out there. I think he'll look respectable in all departments, the question is wether or not he'll crumble at the first shot he takes. If he doesn't, he could put together a respectable record. The biggest thing about MMA is being able to take a hit, because if he can we know he'll have elite resources to perfect his technique and this won't turn into a total sideshow.

Punk is 0-0 in amateur and Pro MMA. What more facts do you need Norseman? Maybe would should put punk up against 2-1 Kelly Hill from the MTV show Slednecks or 6-3 Daniel Payne from the MTV show Caged on MTV. Come hard or don't come at all Norse Man you fucken white belt!

That's lotsa paragraphs on hope. Until we know whom he's gonna fight, these conjectures don't amount squat. But realistically, he has abysmal chance for a W; especially after receiving his first cherry-popping jab to the face.

Good thing he's pretty serious. Wouldn't want him to be extremely serious or deathly serious, or obsessively serious.
