Source: Who has the best cardio in MMA? Easy, Duane Ludwig

What??? No GSP, Fitch, MM, Velasquez, Edgar in the top 10? Yet they have JDS in the top 10. What kind of joke is this?

They have listed Tiequan Zhang as the worst cardio in the UFC really? They did ever saw Mark Hunt vs. Big Ben in Denver? Not to mention Kimbo

Yeah, but that is not an accurate way to test cardio. Volkmann is listed as one of the worst cardio in the UFC and that's not true at all

reading those stats, its quite impressive how much Ludwig increases his striking output in the 3rd round

yeah man, you better train at altitude if you're going to fight in denver, weird how a thing like that goes by completly unnoticed by UFC officals and media.

No you better hang out at altitude for 6-8 weeks and train at sea level.

This is fucking retarded. Junior ended a ton of fights extremely quickly, and only 3 of his fights have gone the distance. He thrashed Carwin and Nelson, and got annihilated by Cain, but he slowed considerably. That research is bad and the person who did it should feel bad.

This doesn't make sense. Some guys have styles that are pretty inactive, like counter fighters or non strikers

But still someone forgot about Lineker and most flyweights

So the study just shows who increases average SSpM over three rounds and who decreases in SSpM? That doesnt accurately show cardio conditioning at all. Too many variables and too much of it can be chalked up to strategy and how the fight is playing out. The only thing you can do scientifically in a fight scenario (where nerves and adrenaline dumping come into play) is observe.

Significant strikes thrown=============Cardio. End of story.

    Duh..

Wrestling is for pussies, any fat ass can log out of their MMO and clinch battle and work for takedowns, defend doubles and scramble on the ground for 5 minutes at a time.

Best cardio for MMA, or best cardio in MMA? Because there's no marathons or triathlons that will save you when somebody is on top of you and not letting you get back up. Even Duane Ludwig would gas by the third round.

How is Garcia not up there? They didn't say anything about landing the strikes.
