Saw palmetto dosen't cut it for me. Any other suggestion - Mostly interested in non-prescription.

Beta Sitosterol

my uncle has prostat problems, and he takes a lot of flax seed oil. So take some flax my man.

Thanks,

I will try it.

My favorite online shot - puritan.com does not stock it. Can U Recommend a good place to buy.

Also do u know dangers of taking more than the recommended dosage?

The combo of Pyguem, Pumpkin Seed, and Saw P has brought my father's psi way down, more so than anything prescrip he has tried. He's a physician, btw, and when he finally came around to the supps not only has it helped his psi, but the side effects from the scrips are'nt there anymore.

If you really have an enlarged prostate (diagnosed by an MD) I just would not feel comfortable relying on OTC stuff. Finasteride and Dutasteride work and have plenty of science backing them up.

Another sheep with his eyes covered by the pharm industry.

There's plenty to be critical of about the pharmaceutical industry, I agree with you on that. But to act like prescription medications aren't helpful when dealing with potentially serious medical conditions is a far more ignorant and dangerous attitude.

Well if you would have read the ts's question you would have realzied that he was asking for non-prescription solutions. If you think these herbs are not as helpful as Finasteride and Dutasteride, without the urinarty tract problems, then you are the ignorant one.

I read his question and I responded that, personally, I wouldn't feel comfortable using OTC stuff for that condition. Just my preference. If he wants to stick with OTC, that's his choice.

The studies I've seen about herbs in this area have shown minimal, inconclusive or inconsistent results. Finasteride and dutasteride have gone through a battery of legitimate testing and shown demonstrative improvement in most cases. I don't have a bias for or against herbs or prescription drugs. I'm only interested in what has been shown to produce results. I'm not trying to push an agenda or pick a fight.:icon_chee

I don't know what literature you're reading, but the data on Tomato Paste and prostate cancer is entirely overwhelming. PC is relatively non-existant in Countries that use Tomatoes as a dietary staple. Plenty of the OTC remedies for Enlarged Prostate and Prostate Cancer (such as Lycopene/Tomatoes, which ARE FDA approved methods of treatment if that still means anything to anyone), have decent backing in actual medical literature and not random Articles by this MD or that MD online.
