lesnar averages around 900 k every card he headlines and GSP averages around 800 k. If I am Dana White i am offering them whatever contracts they want period. End of discussion
Jones vs Cormier did between 740,000 and 820,000 buys and the price is not the same as before. If they lower the price they would easily done a million.
Brock vs Overeem was his last showing in the UFC and also his worst PPV buyrate at 535k.
After Cain trashed him so easily I believe interested waned. Obviously Brock could still do good compared to the abysmal PPV numbers (in the aggregate) we've seen the last few years, but I don't think he would return to huge numbers.
By any measure his return fight with a marquee guy at the time in Ovreem should have been a huge deal, but it just wasn't. 535k buys is very pedestrian for such a high profile fight at heavyweight.
In any event the UFC cannot afford to let Brock go to Bellator, and both sides will reportedly open up their check book to get him.
WAIT. I got it. BROCK VS GSP on the Canadian Border. RIGHT on the border, GSP gets Blue Corner which is the Canadian half of the octagon. Brock gets Red Corner, which will be the UFC half.
