Drones? How big of a problem can they be?

For sure. Drones are the future weapon of wannabe terrorists in USA.

There should be some sort of regristy for them, clearly. You can't let a bunch of turds run around with drones.

Not that a bunch of tards don't run around with guns, but still LOL

Second amendment brah!

there's an 8 page discussion about this old news story...

You should really add the rest of the story to your OP.

The guy is lunatic. He fired a gun into the sky like an asshole.

that's bullitt county for ya. fly a drone there and you're just asking to have it shot down. the owner must be a complete dumb ass.

I took the stock off my 10/22 and did this. Now all I need is a decent wireless pen camera setup and I have my attack drone.

I've been thinking about this for sometime. They can be used to perform all sorts of illegal activities can't they?

Spying on neighbors
Transporting drugs
Can't you attach a bomb to one and send it into someone's window to assassinate them? Even if they were well guarded on the ground?

Here is a news article i came across. A guy used a drone to spy on another guy's daughters. The father shot down the drone and is facing 10 years in prison.

What do you guys think? Do you think they're cool, a nuisance? Should they be restricted?

Drones have been used to transport drugs on at least one occasion:

Officials say a drone has dropped a package of drugs into an Ohio prison yard while inmates were outside, sparking a fight.

The package was dropped July 29 at the Mansfield Correctional Institution, about 65 miles southwest of Cleveland. A spokeswoman for the Department of Rehabilitation and Correction tells the Mansfield News Journal it contained almost a quarter of an ounce of heroin, over 2 ounces of marijuana and more than 5 ounces of tobacco.

So have regular helium balloons:

Border Patrol has been using them for a while on the northern border. Last one I seen was 5 days ago when I was working near the border.

Imagine if a biological or chemical agent was sprayed over a city with a few of these drones?

How would anyone stop this?
How could they?

I can buy pretty large drones online, anyone can.

But the fact is that this sort of attack could just as easily be done with old tech and yet it hasn't happened.

Using a drone, if anything, is over complicating matters. A drone would make very specific, targeted attacks of a single individual far easier, but that's not what terrorists care about.

They can be a huge issue. Just went to a briefing by the FAA for southern California Cops on drones and the issues associated with them.

The tech is advancing way faster than regulations. Only a matter of time before someone either intentionally or unintentionally brings down a commercial airliner with one.

Tech and the affordability. Can get a plain drone for like $30.

Also to keep in mind, this is "old" tech. What does DARPA have?

Not too sure why embed is not working... link is below, but if someone else can embed this, the video is worth checking out. Can skip to 2min in for the action.

That's the old school way of embedding, now just type in [yt ] SNPJMk2fgJU [/yt ] <----close the brackets though.

Jesus he's mounted a machine gun on the drone and on top of that rigged it with explosive to detonate inside a car 😯

What's the range on a good one??

I was walking my dogs at night in my condo complex a few weeks ago I thought I heard bees above me. I looked up and saw a drone. I waved.. It took off.
