Disclaimer: I would look directly on google or yahoo for this but they have shitty advice/articles about a lot of things to do with nutrition.

I have been struggling hard with alcoholism for the past 6 years or so. I know people may flame....but this is a serious question. I go for months doing without one drop of alcohol....and then end up fucking up and binging for 2 weeks. During the whole time I am not drinking, my diet and workout routine is great. I just have a major problem with drinking which I realize. During the 'binge' time, I eat one to two meals a day tops. My weight stays constant although I appear more bloated.
So here is the question...what are the best ways to bounce back? I try to jump back on my diet, but my stomach feels fucked up and holding food down is hard. I know many will say "don't drink" and things like that, and I totally understand. Alcoholism is more than anyone can understand. I am only looking for constructive advice.
I can normally bounce back after about 4 days. I'm looking for advice on any detox/diet that can help in the short run.
I almost feel embarrassed posting this. Any help is appreciated.

In my opinion, giving you advice for how to bounce back after 2 weeks of alcohol binging is the same as encouraging the behavior. I

If i were you, I'd personally try and figure out the reason you go on these binges. I know when i drink alot, it's usually for a stupid reason, and that i shouldn't be doing it, because it doesn't help the situation whatsoever.

Like everyone else has already said, it would be really good to seek out some help since, like you said, you have a problem. Be it through AA, or other groups that specialize.

there are some things that will help out your stomach for nausia and the damage, such as Yellow Ginger root, or Turmeric root (looks like orange ginger), and eating a small portion of this (thumb tip to first knuckle, chopped up) with water. both of these roots have properties that will help heal your stomach, and help with the nausia.

however, truely, the best thing for you would be to seek out professional help for your problem, and then with their help, solve it. Cause for all the aides we could give you here, it's not going to do any good if the underlying problem, in this case, alcoholism, is still there. you're still going to have to take care of that problem, and you'll be better of physically and mentally for it when you take the steps to do so, and get past your problem, so that it's not even a problem anymore. Quick fixes are great, but they're just that, quick fixes, and they don't fix the overall problem, which is the alcoholism.

so yeah.. look into places for help, be they AA or other similar places, and see what they can offer as far as helping you cope, and then deal with your problem :)

good luck

Monger, I totally agree.

I really don't know why you posted this question on here; I'm not joking around when I say this, but AA has a great website. And I'm not saying you need to become a full fledged member, but by going on there and following some of their programs will give you the "tools" you need to avoid alcohol when temptations are at their highest.

Agree bro...Just take the advice and see a doc or AA...All the best
