This idea has been in my mind for a long time, but a small interaction today reinforced that idea..

So what is drinking culture? in a way to me is people that constantly look forward to the weekends or the end of the day to start drinking and "get smashed", they do it as a habit and is something that they are very proud of for some reason.

I have SEVERAL reasons as to why I don't approve, for starters, alcohol is bad for the body, period. Also if you drink too much, you will have a hangover the next morning, it can put you in really bad situations (bar fights, DUI etc). Now don't get me wrong I was part of this culture around my 19 to 21 year old era, but that was it, I grew out of it and when I see people that are way past that age range, and still embrace drinking all the time, I find it a lack of love for yourself, your body, and mind.

Today I went to a medical marijuana dispensary the girl that helped me was this overweight and not attractive at all budtender, I strike up a conversation with her (because I'm the type of guy that talks to anyone) and she is telling me she is going to this restaurant after her shift to "get smashed" when she gets off, she then proceeds to ask me if I was going (translation= why don't we meet over there) I politely said "no I'm not going there" then she starts talking about how she gets kick out of that place all the time etc (approval seeking behavior) she is trying to appeal to me about how much fun she is, and at this point I'm thinking "this chick is completely out of touch with reality, she looks awful, and is doing some of the same stuff that caused her to look like that in the first place" I left the clinic and thought to myself, people that drink all the time for the most part suck!

I know this may ring a few bells for some of you, but that's my take on people that are obsessed with drinking.

Good for you.

And grats on being a homo

I stopped doing that shit back when I was like 20. I did enough drinking from 15-20, it wasn't a sustainable pace. Now a glass of wine with dinner is sufficient for me.

I quit for a few months and relapsed recently.

I have an addiction problem in general. I've quit before though so I can do it again.

I can't remember the comedian but he had a bit about "the bar is always 21".

It's something most gradually stop doing as they approach 30. If you are seriously hitting bars later into life then thats a serious issue. Obviously at any age you can say it's a waste but it's a natural part of most people's social circle in their younger years. Your energy and ability to handle drinking makes that night life an enjoyable thing when your young but holy shit as you age it's a nightmare thing.

The first time I got completely blacked out and another incident at Vegas where I blacked out as well(both at 19) there was absolutely not a sign of hangover, nowadays if I don't drink water as I drink alcohol I'm asking for a hangover.

Now I understand that rednecks like myself tend to hit the bottle more than the usual sniveling worm that occupies this site, I’m going to help you out. Here’s the secret, make sure boozing is the last thing on your daily to do list, and don’t drink to a point where it gets in the way of tomorrow. That’s it.

So much help...

Drinking definitely makes you stupid and so does smoking too much weed. I don't care what anyone says

Thats largely what kills the fun of drinking(heavily) as you age. It goes from something you could do with no prep work to almost an event where you have to prep yourself or your be paying the price for days since recovery goes to shit as you age for all things(athletics, drinking..etc).

Could have gotten a blow job from the fatty
