Nearly 10 years in a consistently exciting and vibrant career and Dong Hung Kim is on the undercard for someone named Louis Smolka.

They're probably hoping the prelims will convince fence-sitters to buy the main card.

Dong Hyun Kim is generally a sloppy striker and boring grappler. Not interested in watching him at all.

    Smolka/Borg > Kim/Saff. In terms of excitement

I'm expecting Saff to either pull out at the last minute or make it a boring contest. Hoping DHK goes crazy again though.

Louis Smolka is very exciting. I think the flyweight fight will be better then Dong/Saffedine.

It's almost like they want ratings on two shows instead of one.

Maybe they'll both be on the main card now that Velasquez/Werdum is off.

Why do some people not grasp why the UFC, and Fox make these decisions ?

Would it be better to be seen by a million ppv customers. Or better to be a featured pre-lim and be seen by a cpl million people ? Also putting on a great fight on the pre-lim and possible helping to get more people to buy the ppv ?

    Which makes more sense...

A complete shit fight featuring unknowns as the last fight of a pre-lim card. Or a barn burner featuring guys long known to the reg fan base ? Which is likely to garner more excitement for the ppv card ?

They don't just throw this shit together. And not every decision is an intentional slight to somebody. It's business, ffs.

I don't knock the exact circumstances for this card. And I don't fucking care. I'll see all the fights and won't throw a hissy fit about the order. It's the fucking money each fighter gets paid that is way more telling than what order they fought in. If you're worried about somebody being disrespected. That's where you ought to start.

    Regardless...

Smolka and Borg are really exciting prospects. This should be a great ground fight. Don't hate on every flyweight, just because they're small!

Smolka keeps a crazy pace that breaks guys, are dangerous in the transitions and are able to finish with both ground and pound and chokes.

Borg is a slick brazilian jiu-jitsu fighter with good dexterity and an aggressive attack from the guard. He hangs with the division's best already.

I believe that Borg will have the technical edge on the ground, but Smolka's conditioning and more well-rounded game could get him the win.

Kim-Saffiedine is a good fight, but so are a lot of the other fights with smaller names. Pyle-Garcia and Means-Oliveira should be good as well...
