Dong Hyun Kim would love to fight Demian Maia next

step one, wait until your opponent is older than Time itself

From a fellow Kim. No.

Maia has earned a title shot. Of course everyone wants to fight him to leapfrog him to a title shot.

DHK didn't even win his last fight.

Saffiedine got robbed, hard.

I'd rather see Maia get his ts than waste time with DHK

You mean a BJJ specialist who KO him previously? That's silly......

KO'd him? Well that's one way to let everyone know you didn't see the fight.

DHK suffered a muscle spasm while clinching up with Maia.

lol love how everyone points out everyone's bs right away. God bless sherdog

Considering the fact that Maia completed the takedown prior to the injury, Maia was likely on his way to another Vampire Squid victory.

Kim has nothing unique for Maia.

Chomp. Burp. Next!

I recall DHK's camp (or someone related to him) coming out with a statement that the muscle spasm actually occurred before the takedown did, while the fighters were clinched up. I'm gonna try to look for a source.

"As they were tied up, somehow (Kim) got a muscle spasm in his side," Rhee wrote on popular mixed martial arts message board The Underground. "He told his corner that something was wrong. Kim defended Maia's takedown attempts for a while, but by the time they got to the other side of the Octagon, he was in too much pain.

"The position in which the injury happened is the kind that happens in training all the time, but for some reason it caused a severe muscle spasm this particular time. It truly was a freak accident."

Hm, interesting. Well, if true, I'll still have my odds as 70/30 Maia based on skillset. I thought the injury occurred on the way down, and was much more serious than a muscle spasm.

At that time I thought DHK could beat Maia, right now he shouldn't be facing anyone than the champion

Yep, Maia would be the favourite for sure and by a huge margin. Especially these days with the new and reborn YOLO DHK who throws spinning elbows and takes absolutely no steps into a direction that isn't forward.

Id like to see them actually have a fight, but yea Maia deserves a crack at the belt

No one would fight Maia. He is to good. He needs title fight. No offence but Kim has zero chance.
