Who would have guessed these two would go on to become some of the most exciting contenders many years after they fought? Brown has not beaten a ranked opponent, EVER. Hyun Kim is at least Ranked top 10 in most relevant rankings. Winner of Hyun Kim vs Brown deserves to be catapulted into the top five, by virtue of being more exciting than most of the division. I admit am pulling for DHK
Something in my gut tells me this fight is going to happen, and it pains me deeply. Both of them should have been given a top 10 opponent two fights ago, and if the UFC keeps from giving that highly ranked opponent to Kim or Brown then they'll never be highly ranked contenders, which they both have the talent to be. Kim only has 1 real loss and it was to Condit, and Brown is on FIRE. I might pick him to beat any welterweight on the UFC roster right now. Make Brown vs Lombard for next title shot (imo the winner of that should be in front on Woodley/Mcdonald) and Kim vs Lawler vs Ellenberger winner. Honestly, either of those guys fighting any of the top 7 or 8 ranked guys would be interesting
Kim is truly a great fighter. If he hadn't made the rookie mistake of looking down or lowering your head so that your opponent can knee or kick your head into oblivion (see Overeem vs Brown) DHK could have beaten Condit and fought GSP for the title. Brown has definitely been unfairly matched against lower ranked competition although they gave him Condit. Hendricks beat Kampmann, Fitch, Kos, and Condit. Names that will stand the test of time and MMA history. DHK and Brown need a fast track to the title now!
