will still be 5 fights for cerrone in 1 year.
6 in 13 months.
He deserves/needs a bit of a break.
Also if he wins I wanted him rested for a shot at pettis soon thereafter.
Would be terrible to miss a LW title fight because someone other than pettis needs to recover.

I'm not really even a Cerrone fan, but if he beats Khabib that will be the most impressive streak that doesn't involve being a champ I can think of.
Cerrone himself said he wants time off, so the date is good for this fight. It's a perfect #1 contender match. Let's just hope Pettis doesn't get a rematch if he loses to RDA. And I'm willing to bet he would get an immediate rematch.

When else would they fight?
185 and 186 are pretty much full, main card-wise. FOX 15 is pretty much done, they could've been slotted in there as a co-main but that's the only opening unless they're gonna headline a UFN and i'd rather this SICK fight be on a PPV to make that card unmissable.
Cerrone will be down, Khabib seems down, 187 it is.
