cliffs:
- "I felt terrible starting that fight"
- "I didnt wanna warm up, didn't wanna get ready, didnt wanna hit any pads, didnt wanna wrestle."
- "I didn't wanna fight til the 2nd round"

bruh does he say this after every fight now

Just retire already. if you don't want to be there I don't want to watch you

And thus 3rd round Cerrone was born.

Hope Pettis whacks him one right in the liver. Can’t be arsed with this try hard.

Motivation Roulette, he’s gotta pull that trigger until he finds a loaded cylinder

It's as if, like I said repeatedly in the other threads, he says this shit all the time.

Can't believe he threw the Al fight, am I right?

All these years and the guy couldn’t hire a sports psychologist? That approach he has when it comes to fighting is dangerous as hell.

It's interesting how the guy with most fights and most willing to accept fights is also the most anxious and doubtful about fighting.

I wonder exactly what part of fighting he actually enjoys, is it winning, or the euphoria of it being over etc, there is clearly some payoff for him to be taking all these fights despite how anxious he gets, and I highly doubt he needs any more money

Is there some new wave of MMA fan here...one that's never heard of Donald Cerrone or at least hasn't heard him talk about this for a decade? Not to mention, he won the fucking fight lol This isn't new

He feels what most guys probably do feel, in one way or another. He just says it.

I agree with you, but this guy has not looked good since he KOd Matt Brown in 2016. He deserves total respect for his dedication and contribution to the sport but comments like these only reinforce the notion that he is a year or two past retirement and is just trying to cash in at this point.

There would be no problem with it, if he was not still ranked #6 in his division despite winning only four of his eleven fights since that Brown KO. Not to mention two of the last three guys who KOd him are fighting for an interim title next week and the other is actively campaigning for one.

So while you may laugh off this comment, if history is any indication Pettis might suddenly be in line for another title shot if he KOs Cowboy like his last three opponents have.

I like that analogy.
Anyone who's competed at a level higher than backyard ball knows what that's like. Sat in locker rooms before not wanting to suit up. Entire bus ride to opponents field was thinking about everything else rather be doing. Mind isn't willing and body agrees.

I get what you are saying, and don't disagree...I don't think he should really be ranked, but saying three guys that beat him are in line for a title dosn't do much to squash the notion tha Cerrone is still decent and has just fought the best guys

The issue is, that since the Conor fight...there's this whole influx of MMA fans on this Cerrone sports psychologist thing, like this hasn't been his issue for his entire career. This isn't even new or revealing, he's talked about it for a literal decade

He's got beaten buy the best guys. He's doesn't suck but he's not the legend that some has made him out to be. He smacks guys around that arent in the top 10. The UFC gives him a favourable ranking and then he gets smoked. It's been a pattern his entire career.

It's no secret that your best shot of beating Cowboy is to go right at him. RDA did it, Justin did it, Pettis did it, even Alvarez beat up Cowboy in round 1.

Yeah, that's because guys are doing great and then Cerrone beats them, and people no longer consider them good fighters...which has been a pattern his entire career

"Cerrone can't beat a top 10 guy" is a trope that's been repeated and debunked for years on this here website
