There was an interview where he said he would potentially strip champions for refusing to defend during the lockdown. He didn’t name Stipe but it’s obviously related. Probably just trying to not so subtly let the fighters know who’s boss but I doubt anything will come of it.

Honestly... Stripping Stipe wouldn't be a bad idea... Just hear my out here. Stipe got some serious eye damage from his last fight with Cormier and those constant intentional eye pokes, having Stipe be stripped and having DC fight the number 1 contender (Between Ngannou and that other guy) for the title, this means DC will retire with his title, but leave that bitter taste in his mouth for not beating Stipe for the title. He'd be getting the same experience and reaction like how he lost to Jon and couldn't avenge his loss.

dont strip him but give us an interim title. The divison has been stalled for too long. Ngannou and Blaydes both seperately earned shots yet had to fight each other AGAIN due to the title picture. Blaydes is now likely quite a ways away from a title shot cause of this. Ngannou vs Rozenstruik shouldve been for an interim title and headlined a later card.
