Dominick had no reason to initiate those brawls with Cody.

He only got hit clean because he initiated these brawls with him. I'm guessing Cody's taunting got to him.

He's talking about it right now. He says it wouldve been a boring fight if he didnt.

Why did Dom Chase? I know Dom is immediately regretting it.

how was he gonna win the fight if he didn't chase?

Cody literally stood in the center of the octagon. Dominick had to try and reassert control, he couldn't. because Cody has better footwork and boxing

CoGar was mentally stronger and was able to dominate Dom physically.

If he didn't, it would have looked to the judges like he was running the entire time. Cody stood right in the center and said "Come to me." Great gameplan by Cody.

He was getting hit on the outside and having very little success landing himself. He forced exchanges because that's the only way he could generate offense. When it comes down to it, Garbrandt is simply the better boxer.

He was chasing Cody and falling into the counter strikes. Cody planned for countering, and Cruz probably planned for an aggressive Cody.

Never a smart idea, but perhaps Cody got to him after all.

He also gave credit to the new champ for controlling the range.

I'm a huge Cruz fan. He started to slow down early, those leg kicks bothered him and he didn't initiate the grappling enough early. You mix that with Cody's power, his footwork where he would pivot whenever Cruz angled in and that Cruz refused to work jabs rather than wing those wide strikes and you have a loss.

Cruz proved he has a beard. He just lost to Cody, and whether it was a bad approach, Cody fighting well or both, it doesn't diminish what Cody did and how he did it.

Cruz came back from all this injuries already and won his belt back. I wasn't sure he was ever going to fight again. He's already a legend after all the shit he's done and overcome.

    Good win, Cody.

These guys just want to write about it on message boards. They don't want to actually hear from fighters. I don't think shergoofs ever listen to fighters except in soundbites.
