Been thinking about it lately, and I honestly feel this guy could be the best fighter we've ever seen. His injuries have obviously knocked him off the map when you're talking about all time p4p lists. But I feel if he can be healthy for a 4-6 year stretch he will be arguably the p4p best fighter of all time. Listening to him talk about fighting, you can see his intelligence and desire for the sport is just on another level to any other fighter.

Here's hoping that this is his last long term injury, and we can finally witness the greatness of Dominick Cruz.

With those knees and him hitting 30; no chance in hell.

If Cruz beats TJ clearly, he would be in the P4P Top 10 to me, and also the undisputed the BW GOAT.

He's pretty cool, but his name isn't Georges St. Pierre

I don't think it matters if MMA remembers him as one of the best of all time.

He's without a doubt one of the most influential fighters, stylistically, of all time.

He's also an exceptional fighter, without a doubt. Seeing as he was pretty much self-taught until his loss to Uriah Faber.

I don't think TJ, ripped off Cruz's style per say, but he definitely uses some of it's aspects. Which you'd have to be dense, or Barao, not to do. Cruz absolutely crushed the 135lb weight class, and was basically the reason why 125 was created. His ability to do that "herky jerky" footwork that kept his opponents from feeling safe, mixing up strikes and takedowns, all that; was a recipe for wins.

They need to get him the ACL off some gigantic large animal so he can bounce around until he's ready to retire. I hope post-retirement he becomes a coach, as I think he has one of the best Fight IQ's and analytical minds amongst fighters. He's generally very accurate in his appraisals and predictions (see the TUF season and all his calls during pre-fight shows).

His fight predictions are usually spot-on, as if he orchestrated them. He needs to brush up on his commentary skills, (Watch the 2 most recent SHOOTO Brazil events, you'll hear what I mean), but he has a lot of interesting things to say. If he can refine the way he gets this information across, I could see him commentating in the UFC after he retires.

I can't think of another "blue chip" combat sports athlete who has had worse luck than Cruz.....My hope is that he returns, and stays healthy.

He is an amazing talent. We have all lost out by his injuries. I wish him good health in the future and look forward to seeing him take his belt back.

Nothing against TJ, who is a fantastic place holder.

I think once healthy, he should get an immediate title shot. A healthy Dom is rare and if he's given a tuneup fight, I'd be worried about him getting injured yet again. I'd like him to get a chance to prove he;s the best even though if TJ loses and Cruz gets injured again, it could damage TJ's image permanently.

Pretty interesting matchup though. I'm a fairly casual fan but imo Cruz has the speed advantage while TJ has more power and as far as technique goes, I'm not qualified to comment.

I like when hes on the pre fight shows. Especially when an alpha male fighter is going to fight.
