I've been all for a Cruz/Aldo fight whilst it's been possible and I know a few are, but would anybody rather see him stay at 135 and clean up there? or at least have a run at it.

I hope Cruz gets a fight in this year, maybe he will be on one of the December cards, I don't know why it's taken this long to work out who he will fight when Dillashaw and Garbrandt are itching to get a fight made with him.

Maybe the UFC will pursue the Aldo fight at 45? it certainly would do wonders for Cruz legacy, but he has four or five guys he can fight at bantamweight in the next year or so.

I remember putting a thread up a few weeks ago about what Cruz would have to do to go down as a GOAT

Thoughts? Can he beat Aldo?

got his split belt by running, now wants to run to 145 ?

as much as i'd like to see him vs aldo, he should face the music at 135 first.

I know you have him as your avi, but this post insinuates you are actually Helwani with that instigating comment.

The only one left for him is Dillashaw. After a clear cut UD, I'd like to see Cruz move up.

35ers have nothing for him, he'll style of them for 25 mins without breaking a sweat.

I like Cruz's ambition, I like the idea of the fight, but I just have doubts Aldo wants it as much as Cruz does now, you know?

There's still plenty of great matchups for Cruz at 135 (Dillashaw rematch, Linekar, Dodson, etc.).

I guess I'd prefer to see him fight at least once, maybe twice more at 135 before going on to a 145 pounder. He wants to challenge himself vs. the best, but he also wants to make some damn money (hence him calling out Aldo). An Aldo fight would absolutely be money in the bank for Cruz.

TLDR: Cruz deserves a "money fight". He's one of the best champions in the game.

Cruz is lying. He is never going to be the smaller guy in a fight ever again. He pretty much said this in the WEC.

Aldo would destroy Cruz with leg kicks & TDD. If he wants to move up, fine I'll watch. But I wouldn't mind seeing him rack up a few defenses at BW. The division has never looked this good.

I'd love to see Cruz vs Aldo at some point, would be a interesting fight

I'd love to see Dom vs Aldo. There's nothing for Dom at 135.

I can't see Dom having much of a chance against Aldo. The way he bobs forward putting his head down all the time would leave him wide open for a brutal knee from Aldo, I really don't know how he manages to get away with it as much as he does but I'm pretty sure Aldo would make him pay.

Having bad knee's really doesn't bod well for him in a fight with Aldo either, it would likely be the end of his career after Aldo takes that leg apart.

I think Aldo amputates Dom's legs with kicks.

The problem is that such great fight (an actual superfight) shouldn't be made unless it's for the title.

Dom was out for too long to start moving up now. He has to defend defend defend before doing this, imo.

That´s my opinion as well.... Aldo would destroy those legs and he is much stronger than Dom and has the best TDD in the game.... terrible match up for Dom.

But i like the timing of this fight, though..... Lineker won´t get his TS until he can prove he can make weight, Garbrandt doesn´t deserve it quite yet, i´m sorry, a win over Almeida and Mizugaki doesn´t grant you a shot at the goat bw... and TJ had his chance and blew it, he needs another big win, perhaps his revenge against Dodson before he gets a rematch at Dom. And if Conor is not coming down, i think Aldo would be more interested in a super fight with Dom then defending a bs interim belt against Holloway or Pettis.... Both men would make more money and have an opportunity to make history.
Also the risks are getting higher for Dom, with guys like Lineker and Garbrandt later on, that can put him away with a punch..... so why not take his chances at greatness while he can? A win over Aldo would sure put him in the goat talks without a doubt, whereas a win over TJ, Lineker or Grabrandt, would just add another title defense to his already goat bw resume. What do you think?

Dom has not cleaned out 135. Needs a definitive win against TJ and to fight Lineker and Garbrandt before I'd say he has done so. Who knows about Edgar and Moraes too.

That said I'd totally watch the shit out of Dom vs Aldo.

I agree with this. Cruz has a lot of contenders at be.
