A lot of people have been parroting Joe Rogan's claims that TJ Dillashaw is the Bantamweight GOAT. But looking at the facts it is quite obvious Cruz is the GOAT.

    Cruz:
    More career wins
    More title defenses
    Less career losses
Beat all the career 125 pounders he fought
    Has a win over TJ

    TJ:
Got KOd by legit 125 pounders
    Less wins and title defenses
Lost his title by being a drug cheat

    Their fight was a decision!

TJ is still the goat and I'm sure will keep proving so after this USADA fiasco.

Only thing you can say bad about Dom is that TJ knocked out the guy who humiliated him twice but besides that Dom is the clear GOAT imo.

Of course he is. His resume is unparalleled. Especially coming back after many devastating injuries and retaking the title from the 2nd best BW of all time.

The TJ that KO'd Cody the second time beats any version of Cruz

    Correct.

Only one close was TJ, but cruz beating him after a long layoff and tj getting stoned by cejudo proves cruz is still the man.

I think if you threw a poll up you’d get dom at around 60%. I favor him. But not by a lot. It’s close enough that it’s be worth seeing a rematch

Can't disagree. As unlikable as he is he is still a bad dude in the octagon.

Problem is Cruz has 6 total UFC fights. Brock Lesnar has more. Makes Cain look like an active champ by comparison. No one at 135 is clear GOAT. That MM win is really impressive, but it's still 5 wins. Cody loss looks less and less impressive as time passes. He might have also beaten a washed up Faber. Barely beating TJ isn't really that impressive either. Mizugaki loses almost every time since. Even that incredible MM win was before MM got to the peak of his ability.

There's not a lot wrong with him, but there's not a lot right either. I think 135 is that division where everyone has failed the GOAT test and I think the title should be vacant cause as of right now no one deserves it.

TJ loses every four fights, doesn't look good in a lot of his wins.

Cruz barely fought and couldn't finish people, didn't fight Barao when Barao was in the P4P discussion.

Barao was able to finish people and at his peak was probably the most respected person ever at 135 but he had an interim belt he didn't get by beating the previous champ. He then fell off one of the steepest cliffs in UFC history.

No GOAT. 135 also has had the most isolated title fights, only a few people have gotten shots at 135 and the best really don't fight the best.

Dom is coasting off old wins, his impressive fight since 2016 was his fight with TJ. TJ ko'd the man who made Dom look silly

After having only 1 fight in nearly 5 years, and about 1.5 years after his lone win in that span, he came back to win a decision against TJ. On top of that, he was out so much and so long due to bad injuries. So what's your point about him winning a decision?

TJ couldn't finish a guy that was out for the past 1.5 years and still lost a decision to him.

TJ was also probably juicing back then too. So that means TJ lost to a guy that was out for almost 5 years in total due to terrible injuries...even though he was ripe with roids. Haha

    I think this is obvious

He had the longest reign, and tj and barao are proven roiders with less impressive reigns

But I do respect that tj lost the belt and won it back two years later, very few fighters win back a belt theyve lost, you might say cruz but I dont see it as him losing it it was injuries.

The Cruz that KO'ed Mizugaki KTFO's any version of TJ.

Even the roided versions of TJ...which might as well be every version of TJ.

I don't think anyone disputes that Cruz is the smaller weight class goat.

    Not sure.

    Dom
+ Never been knocked out in 22 fights
+ Won 3 WEC title fights and 4 UFC title fights
    + Beat TJ
    - Only had 2 finishes in 14 total fights in the WEC and UFC.
    - Humiliated by Cody
    - His list of opponents is quite imcomplete, due to being out with injuries. Never faced dangerous guys from the modern era, for instance Assuncao.

    TJ:
+ TJ beat Cody who beat Cruz
+ Has fought good the best modern era contenders
    + Many impressive finishes
    - Lost to Cruz
    - Busted for PEDs (allthough we should wait for the verdict before making too much of it)
    - Finished twice by natural flyweights (Cejudo, Dodson)

Personally I think that TJ vs Cruz was close, and TJ can make up for that by the fact that Cruz' loss to Cody was a lot worse than that, and that was someone who TJ knocked out twice.

Aldo, DJ, Holloway (soon) > Cruz

You can even make a case for Frankie or BJ
