dolph lundgren-putting in work at the kyokushin karate tourney

That was awesome. I watched the Van damme vs Lundgren video from Universal Soldier.

The fact that most Kyokushin (and knock-down Karate) orgs' rules don't allow head-hunting makes most fights look sloppy IMO.

That being said, I know that Kyokushin fighters would wreck shit up in real life.

Those "full contact" karate tourneys don't have much validity in my opinion. Not a practical way to train for fighting.

Dolph is a cool guy, speaks several languages and was a straight A student at the Swedish equivalent of MIT

Dolph was good for his time. Back when knockdown fighting was new (it had been introduced internationally 1975, the japanese started experimenting with the rules a few years earlier) and noone really knew how to fight with the rules. Ofcourse the fact that dolph was much larger than most of his opponents helped.
Kyokushin Knockdown competition style fighting has come a long way since then.

dolph was a bad ass back in his day. hell even now he'd wreck most 20 and 30 year olds quite easily.
