I have a few problems like anxiety, depression, motivational problems etc

Nothing severe but enough to affect my life in a very substantial and negative way.

I have been working on mindfulness, using courage, and all the do it the hardway, dont take short cuts be a strong character be natural, be the real you, ive always stuck religiously to this way of thinking.

However im starting to question whether what we think is a smart fool proof idea is actually dumb.

After all I dont use a horse to travel to another country I take an aircraft.

Is it stupid to not take advantage of advances in medicine drugs and so forth (so long as you use them in an intelligent long term oriented way)

I mean why not boost your natural T levels to abit above average, you will have more drive more confidence more orgasms more women, more muscle, less fat etc etc etc very very quickly and the cost is very low, your health isnt impacted in any significant way not even long term, its low cost, its easy, it just seems to me that while there are alot of idiots that abuse drugs and have low characters and mess themselves up there are also alot of idiots doing hard brutal work for long periods of time unnecessarily when they could have popped a pill instead of working on anxiety for 10 years and having a dramatically reduced life experience because of it.

What do you guys think a balance of responsible drug use and character to enhance life?

Or stick to the age old advice of building character not looking for the quick fix, doing the hard work for good long term results

(I personally cant take testosterone because I want to compete in MMA for a bit, but after that for recreational use why not?)

This topic also extends to anything else where you can get an unnatural advantage, like plastic surgery to look better than you are naturally, like nootropics to be a little smarter, a little growth hormone to slow aging, and so on

Start with exercise

I don't like meds but they are not a quick fix to replace long term healthier life choices. They're for people who are so dysfunctional that they need meds to be able to function enough to make better choices. If you're going to a shrink who is pushing meds on you though, then find a new one.

I've been on meds for years and in my experience they aren't a quick fix. It's a long process of fine tuning to find the right stuff and dosages. Once you do there are major benefits (I'd say I'm over depression) but also drawbacks (Lethargy). I'd recommend talking to a doc

Ive been on several different meds. Im off now. I felt better on the meds, but I couldn't get a boner.

If you take meds they will work but only if you avoid things like pot or alchohol. If you are living that kind of lifestyle you probbaly shouldnt take them

I am diabetic and have really high blood pressure. The meds I take give me diarrhea, make me sleepy all the time, erectile dysfunction, and makes my acne breakouts really bad- which makes getting a girlfriend difficult - also I cant hold down a decent job because of my drowsiness - I sleep A LOT!
But I can eat all the sugar I want and dont have to worry about a heart attack - Diet and exercise is a pain in the ass- Thank God for modern medicine!

So
try meditation?

I am it works just very difficult and takes a long time.

People are saying taking a little testosterone works wonders with no serious side effects since its only a small amount.

It seems like we are at the level where the age old advice is still the best advice maybe with a few exceptions, seems advances in medication are not advanced enough yet and you are better off staying natural most of the time?

you should ask yourself if there is anything you are doing that may be worsening your symptoms. like for me it was smoking pot

for me its staying inside all the time on the internet and not going outside, thing is i like that existence and I dont want to change it but I dont want anxiety for when I do go out, if I had a job there would be no problem but I dont want one of those

im not into slavery I do not condone it and I will not be a part of the problem

i haven't taken psych yet, but depression can be caused by chemical imbalances. Therefore, it might be something completely outside of your conscious control. That being said, trying pharmaceuticals to correct that imbalance seems like a reasonable option.

If you had high cholesterol, you'd take a drug for it and make lifestyle changes right? I think it's the same basic idea regarding the brain.

I was thinking more along the lines of even if you are perfectly healthy why not take drugs to improve your life? Why have 2 orgasms a day on natural testosterone levels when you have have 8 a day on unnatural levels? etc

What the fuck?

Diet and exercise are their own reward once you get a few months in.

Those side effects sound terrible.

You sound like a mess, lift more.

I think it's a question of morality. Some people think taking anything that alters your natural self if cheating or they feel it's better to overcome something naturally and not take a shortcut. Which it why PEDs is so looked down upon in sports competition.

It's not worth it to go on trt if your hormone levels are fine. Hell, it's not worth it roiding heavily (bitch tits, hair loss, sexual disfunction etc).

If you have low test then yes you should get on it but healthy individuals should be fine.

Sounds severe..

But what about logic. Its only worth the hard natural way if that way gets best results, if the short cut gets best results you do that, whatever gets best results for your life you do that.

We dont walk to the next town on foot, we cheat and take the train, why not do the same with everything?
