Doesn't a win over Hendo mean more than ever right now?

If machida and gus win their next fights id rather see gus get the title shot first... Machida rematch can happen after.

He's on his best streak right now, but he's pretty much the same fighter as he has been.

This has literally nothing to do with what TS asked :icon_conf

It clearly does... I answered his question by stating gus should get a shot over machida...which means no, a win over hendo does not matter more than ever now. :)

He's more powerful, and his striking and timing has gotten alot better.

Gas tank is worse, and so is his wrestling honestly,. He doesnt even use it

Okay, i can agree with this.

The question being asked is does beating Hendo now make for a more impressive win than beating him in previous years.

You saying Gus should get a title shot by beating Mousasi is irrelevant.

If Hendo was in his prime he wouldn't need to inject testosterone into his system.

I don't think Hendo is in his prime. He's still a great fighter but he has gotten slower and less athletic. It's just that he recently defeated big names (Shogun, Fedor, Babalu) who were well out of their prime. So it makes him look like he's gotten better, when in reality his competition has just gotten worse. Plus, he's coming off a long layoff.

He's no where near his prime. Beating Hendo probably meant the most when he fought Rampage. He was coming over to the UFC as a 2 division champ.

Right now he's a contender in his 40's on a 4 fight streak and while we all love to make a big deal out of this streak. Shogun is 50/50 in the UFC and hasn't won 2 in a row since Coleman and Chuck in '09. While Fedor was ranked top 10 at the time, he was 1-3 in Strikeforce and on a 2 fight losing streak going into the match. This streak has name value, but they weren't world beaters when he faced them.

He rarely has to rely on his wrestling anymore. I think he just uses it to stuff takedowns and when he's getting wrecked at standup (which I don't think he has been truly wrecked in a long time.

Pretty objective.

I don't know if he's more powerful though, or just gotten more precise and controlled.

I think he's in his prime.

he achieved a lot since he started with TRT. sadly, I doubt that he will pick up where he left off. fighting machida after a long layoff because of an injury is a very dangerous thing to do for a guy dan's age. IMO machida won't make a mistake and brawl with him, he will pick him apart and maybe even KO him.

Yes and no. His recent run is phenomenal, but I feel like his next loss will be the beginning of the end, so while it will seem very impressive now, I think we'll look back and see it was the beginning of the decline. Kinda like Wanderlei's loss to Cro Cop, or Chuck's loss to Rampage. At the time Chuck was on an absolute tear, but you look at what he did afterward and you figure that was really the beginning of the end.
