No it's not the best, not even the second best.

But it's certainly one of the better runs we've seen, atleast on paper.

Mendes....come on. He was coming off back to back ko/tko losses and a long ass layoff. The jury fight didnt exactly propel him to top status. Aldo is certainly well past his peak. Ortega isnt exatcly a world beater. Most of his big name wins are against fading fighters.

Mendes was coming off a 1st round KO win over Myles Jury wtf are you taking about?
Aldo was barely past his peak if at all, he had just finished Stephens and Moicano. Aldo is still a top fighter now as well.
Not to mention the 2 Max wins and now Ortega who is a fucking beast.

So what if he kod jury. Youre acting like jury is some top 5 killer. Aldo is absolutely not in his peak. Peak aldo wouldnt have 3 straight losses or even back to back losses. Max ill give him. Ortega is not the beast you guys make him out to be. As i said, most of his biggest wins are against shop worn fighters.

Lmao what? The corpse of Silva who he couldn't even finish, Romero who he had a staring match with and could have been scored for Romero, Gastelum who has lost 4/5 of his next fights or something.

Whittaker's a great win, Costas a decent one.

Except Jones' opponents were even more out of prime on average than Volks. Also skill wise worse fighters, just popular names.
 
Gonna catch hate for this but McGregor beat 3 of the guys on that list plus Poirier during a 6 fight run. Facts are facts.

Having said that Volk is chasing GOAT status at this point. What a great fighter.
 
Everybody's best 5 streak list has giants asterisks near half of the names on them. Having said that, I agree with Jones having the best 5.

It's interesting that no one has mentioned Khabib's last five fights. It's also interesting that there are quite a few fans that consider him one of the "GOATs" based on those five fights...
