does types of salt really matter?

Different salts have different tastes. Himalayan salt takes some getting used to. I use mostly kosher salt, i like the coarser texture and its less tangy i think than iodized. Sea salt also provides a slightly subtle taste, may be because of the grind on it. Chemically, i think they are all rather similar though.
