Does this seem like it was rehearsed to you?

At a Foo Fighters concert Dave brought a kid out from the crowd and let him play a song. Most people think it was totally random but I feel like it was pre-planned and rehearsed. The kid is way too good at what he's doing and the band even stops on cue for little impromptu solos that aren't in the original song:

What do you think, totally random or a rehearsed event?

I don't know. Maybe he plays in a cover band.

But how would the Foo Fighters band know to stop on a dime at that part of the song so he can do his solo riffs, unless it was rehearsed?

That's not normally a part of the song.

Do you have any footage of Dave pulling him out of the crowd? Doesn't matter either way, I have listened to so much Foos since this lockdown, he's completely my happy place. Foos and Incubus have really kept me going, I'm going to have to hand my metal card in at this rate.

When?

Yeah just go back to the beginning of the video, I timestamped it to the part which leads me to believe it was definitely rehearsed but you can take it back to the beginning to see the whole thing play out

99% of the "random" shit that happens at a live show is probably not random. Even little stuff.

... and then there's this fucking hero

They also play in the cover band.

Lots of bands do stuff like that.

Greenday always used to make a makeshift band out of people on the crowd and got them to play stuff like Blitzkrieg Bop, sometimes it went great, sometimes it was a mess.

I'm sure if Foo Fighters did this regularly they'd occasionally get some great guitarists.

Steel Panther try people from the crowd a lot, loads of vids out with mixed results, this guy killed it though.

One of my old housemates got brought on stage at Derren Brown show and got legit hypnotised made him drink a glass of vinegar and convinced him it was water, he was burping up vinegar the rest of the night.

Sozzles , I didn't know what timestamping was :D

Non cynical Grohl fan me, I'm going with not rehearsed. Not trying to contrary. I do have rose tinted glasses with Dave though.

Foo fighters suck almost as much as nirvana. Thanks alot grohl.

Of course it is. A band isn’t gonna chance some kid fucking up their song in front of a paying audience just for a feel good moment. It’s entertainment.
