Because at every weight class, basically the same 4-5 guys are recycled over and over for title shots(Dan Henderson for example), until they lose about 2 or 3 straight then their phased out and another guy comes in to recycle the same 4-5 guys for title shots.

So my question is, does the UFC just need more guys?

Yeah good point. I kind of feel it's the same dudes who keep fighting each other.Having said that I think each division has like 30-70 fighters the top guys seem to just do enough but winning some and losing sum that younger new blood doesn't make through.

There's also a lot of fighters now in their late 30 and early 40 still in the game. i.e the average of the top 10 sherdog HW division is 35

Yeah, that's the problem. Not enough fighters...

They need however many it takes to do 52 shows per year. Saturday night fights make me happy.

Well the top fighters are the top fighters for a reason.

The problem you're talking about has more to do with match making.
