I'm sitting here thinking who could be the next opponent for Bobby Knuckles in the future, but when I go through the list I realize:

    1) Chris Weidman moved to LHW
    2) Jacare moved up LHW
    3) Santos moved up to LHW
    4) Rockhold moved up to LHW
    5) Bisping retired
    6) Machida left the UFC
    7) Mousasi left the UFC
    8) Nick Diaz is M.I.A
    9) Anderson Silva is not getting any younger
    10) Not another Whittaker vs Romero rematch
    11) Is Tim Boetsch still active?

The MW division seems kinda empty, no?

To a degree yes? It wasn't insanely stacked like it was when the UFC bought strikeforce but I'd argue it has better matchups then boring Welter weight atm

MW was always one of the weaker divs. That was the major knock on Anderson.

It's deeper than when it was Anderson against cans, but shallower than just after Weidman kicked his ass twice then got destroyed by everyone

There's a changing of the guard happening, that's all. Weidman, Jacare, Rockhold etc. are all past their primes

Costa, Israel, Whittaker, Gastelum, Cannonier, that's a solid top 5

Someone losing doesn't always mean they were "exposed"

LOL hermansson was exposed because he lost to cannonier? Was DC also "exposed" when he lost to stipe?
Uriah hall was 3-1 in his last four right. And not to mention he has a win over Thiago Santos, who almost beat Jones.
Romero is still doing great, go watch his fight against Costa
And what's wrong with Darren till? You do realize that he only has two losses in his entire mma career right?

That’s a non-question, the MW division was at it’s best during the Weidman-era. Weidman, TRT-Belfort, Prime Jacare, Prime-Rockhold, TRT-Machida and Mousasi. That was a nasty time.

ofcourse. the rise of cannonier and hermansson dont match the quality of fighters like jacare, rockhold, weidman.

romero, izzy, gastelum, whittaker are still the top 4 imo and will be for a while in that division, i dont see the others beating them.
