Does the Jones/Cormier fight change how you think a Jones/Cain fight would go down?

I think Jones would take Cain. Thought it even before this fight. But tonight sealed it for me.

Dumb thread will be lost in a sea of dumb threads. Cain won't have to blow his cardio by cutting a lot of weight like DC did.

Well I'd have to favor Cain due to the gas tank. Bones does show small signs of getting tired here and there and Cain will never stop. It might look a good deal like round 2 of Bones and DC except it will never ever stop with Cain. We know Bones doesn't have the ko power for a 1 punch stoppage . Now Bones is very diverse and if he could fight Cain in a different fashion like sticking and moving then he could win it. But if he fought just like tonight I'd have to pick Cain.

I'm guessing you missed the other 10 threads created within the last 20 minutes asking the exact same question?

    No.

No, because I already thought Jones would kick Cain's ass. Just like I thought he would Cormier's.

I'm just waiting to be vindicated again.

At HW Cain would smash him. Finished by round 3. When Cain is healthy he is unbeatable. I thought contrary earlier in his career, but that guy is a savage.

I would have to pick Cain, dc was having some pretty good success with the clinch and short range striking, I could see Cain being able to pull it off without tiring as much as dc did coming into the championship rounds.

It would depend a hell of a lot on whether or not Cain can show up in his best fighting condition. Cain in his best fighting condition, I think, is on another plane of existence relative to any MMA fighter we've ever seen, Jones, Anderson, GSP, Fedor, Aldo, it may be just me who thinks this but I think he runs circles around all of them in terms of MMA skills and fight prowess when he is fighting at his best. I mean, is there another MMA fighter at all, anywhere, who could make Dos Santos look that damn bad for 10 rounds straight? Has there ever been an MAM fighter who could do that?

A little. Hard to predict, though, since we've never seen DC fight Cain... or even JDS.

What I do know is that Anderson is very lucky that 'superfight' never materialized.

    Ahhh,right.

Annnd Jones will bulk up put on more muscle.

Not starve himself and not cut any water making HIS cardio and strength THAT much better.

I don't think Cain stands a chance. It's all talk until they get in there and Jones struts his stuff.

Until I can see how a 240+ pound Jones would fight I cant answer.

What, that easy cut he has now that apologists say means he is suited for LHW? I heard his interview on the Fox Live analyst show and he says if he moves to HW it would have to be against a small HW. Not the words of a man who thinks he can handle the champion of the division.
