Does the fact that Ronda lost to a fighter with no much of a ground game make her look worse?

I know that Ronda's gameplan against Holly was stupid.

But does it open up the possibility that fighters who lost to Ronda now have a chance at beating her.
If any of the fighters in Ronda's previous matches used Holly's gameplan, could they have won?

Other than Holly, who else out there can beat Ronda now?

She is still quite dangerous as a grappler.

Holly just executed a great gameplan, along with Ronda going full tard, trying to trade with her.

But Holly timed & countered Rousey's hip throws very nicely that night.

She beat a few chicks standing so ... I unno

She rocked Tate standing before the armbar so ... I unno

If Ronda lost to Holly on the ground, sure.

Yep everybody can take Holly's gameplan because her footwork is easy to take and escaping the clinch which is what Ronda's judo is all about will be easy too.

What? Ronda didn't choose to strike with Holly, Holly forced her to strike by using great footwork to avoid being clinched. It's really hard to clinch someone with vastly superior footwork.

Ronda did what she always does, charged at her opponent and tried to box her way into a clinch.

Yep

If holly did have a ground game that she relied on, she probably wouldn't have won. I mean, that's kinda the reason Ronda lost the fight

You are an idiot

No, I think her lack of skill on the feet was the deciding factor. If HH wasn't so game on her feet Ronda would have been able to shoot in and take it.

The only way it would make her look worse is if she got armbarred by HH.

Not at all, she tried to out-box the boxer. Her strategy was crap. Her tactics were foolish. Her coach was giving her nonsensical advice.

She played perfectly into Holly's hands.

No, no she didn't. She tried for take downs which failed. She got frustrated and tried to strike but it was clearly not her end game. She wanted Holm down.

The rest of this is totally true

If anything, the Holm loss to Tate should make Ronda feel invincible right now

Yes. But none of that will matter when she mollywops meisha Tate and (if she's smart) retires to retain a little bit of that badass mma fighter mystique she lost

No, because Holm had enough sense to avoid the ground (cause she knew she would lose on the ground) so she kept the fight standing.

I dont think anyone will beat Ronda on the ground but if other fighters are smart enough to keep it standing and avoid the clinch, some of them stand a chance.

I think Cyborg would beat Ronda as well if she sticks to striking.

I think Miesha would lose to Ronda for a 3rd time cause she can't keep her wits about her and likes to bull rush Ronda to prove a point and gets tossed around, sort of like how Ronda coudn't keep her wits about her and kept running at Holm and gettings socked up.

rhonda seems like she quit after losing. might be another year before she fights again

Anybody could see RR's stand up game was terrible, every girl she fought for the most part landed clean shots on her, and she has no head movement...plus the deer in headlights look when she gets tagged so you know she never spars. There are just a lot of really low skilled, unathletic girls in WMMA, and RR was a big strong monster with some Judo throws and armbars so she cleaned house. She is that one dimensional, literally...she's never shot a single or a double, she's never gone for any other sub besides the armbar, and she can pretty much only punch a stationary target.

Match ups make fights, Holly is just a bad match up for ronda

It makes Ronda look bad because she didn't take advantage of her opponents obvious weaknes and chose to try to stand with a world class striker.
I don't think that it would effect other opponents for Ronda unless they where a better striker than her and she was to make the same stupid mistake.
