With Tate v Nunes added to UFC 200 plus the interim title fight between Frankie and Aldo and the 5 rounder main event does this mean any chance of GSP returning against Lawler has gone?

Would the ufc be able to have 4 potential 5 round fights on the same card??

Think this could show the chances of a GSP return are looking slim-none..

I think it would be a waste to put any GSP fight on a card like that. It's gonna sell anyways and doesn't need to be bolstered by a big card. You could potentially put a GSP return on a weak card and turn it into a monster of a card based on that a lone. From a business standpoint it wouldn't make sense.

This ^^

I think if he was added to the card then it could push it over UFC 100 numbers.. Be a big story for the casuals. But they could also base a huge ppv (maybe in Canada) on his return and get more $$$ I guess that way

Gsp vs Lawler would have been epic. Is there any point though in George coming back to win the title and then just retire again straight after? He isn't going to take more than three fights. I doubt he comes back at all.

what even started this whole gsp/lawler thing didnt the red king say he thought gsp wouldnt comeback for title fights but fun/money fights

They don't need GSP/Lawler on this card

They don't need DC/Jones on this card

these fights can command numbers on their own cards
hopefully georges and robbie do battle but who knows

Ariel said it was being discussed and hoped for. Doesn't mean it will happen I know but it's obviously in the UFCs mind

there has been some backlash to the event not being "epic"
mostly by internet fan boys
GSP vs Lawler would probably push this card to those rediculous expectations

personally i doubt it happens

Epic card....well maybe not epic, but awesome....well maybe not awesome, but relevant...ok not so many relevant fights, but at least it's solid all around....OK well there are a couple of solid fights outside of the main event and the ladies, ....ok so there is like 1 fight so far that might actually deserve to be on such a historic event....

I watch the women fights but never get excited for any of them. They make good bonus fillers but it's still just a cat fight. This better not be the big news fight to sell more tickets.

wHEN HAS THE ufc EVER PUT THOGETHER A TIMLY SUPRFIGHT foR real?

Kenny Florian mentioned in the Fighter and the Kid podcast that GSP wants to come back towards the end of the year and that he's still deciding on a fight that motivates him. Likely he'll come back for the NY card against a big name. All signs so far indicate that he's not interested in the title.

Interestingly, Meisha vs Nunes is not billed as co-main, thus co-main spot is still vacant. Will probably be a title fight. Only other possibility besides WW would be LW.
