Hey sherbros, I was cooking at a restaurant for a while, but then my manager sold the business. My manager introduced me to the new guys, had me show them around the place and show them how we do things, and then the next day I'm not on the schedule anymore.

I asked my boss if I still work there, he said "I don't know right now, hang around for a bit."

I asked the new guys and none of them seemed to know anything either and they keep telling me they'll get back to me.

So....is somebody required to tell me that I don't work there, or can they just remove me from the schedule and give me the run around like they're doing?

It kind of sucks because nobody can give me a straight answer, yet a lot of other workers (People that I trained) still work there.

Depends on where you live.

Doesn't look good. I think you're fired but they don't want to actually say it, they just hope you get the point and find something else.

Teh jab or uppercut is the best option

File for unemployment you should get your answer then

Go into work and start working. They have to either fire you or pay you.

I've pretty much tried that, but they just say they don't need me today and they'll get back to me.

I'm not confused: It's clear that I don't work there anymore. I just wanted one of them to man up and actually say it to me, but maybe they don't need to give an official notice of termination in this case.

Yes. I was thinking something like, jab, jab, feint the takedown, overhand right. Then take a bite of their food, spit it over their limp bodies and say, "your food is shit."

Then walk away.

On a serious note, it's just annoying that grown men can't be direct.

The can give you the run a round but they have to pay you for your services rendered.

Show up and start doing prep. Don't say shit to anyone unless they actually tell you that you're fired.

What kind of a boss answers like that??

Unless you're an illegal and he's extremely polite or setting you up for ICE.
