Does Ronda Rousey really deserve the ESPY best fighter award?

Ronda is ducking Cyborg but Mayweather wasn't ducking Pacquiao, Sherdoggers logic.
 
Beating Pacquiao once > Ronda's entire resume

Ronda is the best woman fighter on the planet but she isn't facing the same competition as male boxer or male mixed martial artists. Ronda got a title shot in Strikeforce after 2 wins. She also got promoted to the UFC belt. That is the depth of women's mma in a nutshell. Pacquiao will go down as one of the greatest fighters to ever live. Nobody on Ronda's resume will be remembered. Keeping it real.

Pacquiao loses a BS decision to Timothy Bradley, gets KO'd by Juan Manuel Marquez and outpointed/hugged and avoided by Floyd Mayweather = HE'S OUT OF HIS PRIME!!!!

It's not like he lost to cans or something. His loss to Bradley was just stupid, in my opinion, I thought he CLEARLY won that fight and I'm quite sure most people did. Getting KO'd by Marquez is not something to be ashamed about, Marquez is the fucking man and gave Pac some tough fights in the past - then he lost to Floyd the way everybody loses to Floyd. That doesn't mean Pac is done or something. He's still legit. He's losing to very high level guys.

It's sad how fight fans are. A guy can go undefeated for many, many years and then he loses one and they go from hero to zero, just like that. It's ridiculous.

Everybody loves a winner, but when it comes to combat sports fans, man, it's fucking insane how quickly they go to the next guy.

Nobody told Manny to get KTFO. Floyd is 38 and 2 years older than Manny so GTFO with that out of his prime BS.

To be fair, a more correct and precise argument would be that Floyd is an infinitely more skilled BOXER than Rousey.

Rousey in my view is the more skilled FIGHTER if you look at the sum of their skills.

Boxing
Floyd - World class
Rousey - Weak amateur

Stand up grappling
Floyd - Non existent
Rousey - World class

Ground game and submissions
Floyd - Non existent
Rousey - Elite

IE, in 2 out of 3 skill sets that would be required in an actual FIGHT (not a boxing match by Queensbury rules), Rousey is more well rounded and more skilled in more areas.

All of which is irrelevant since the ESPYs are a popularity contest and right now Rousey is more popular (not the same as more famous) than Mayweather.

yeah, that's why people paid ten of thousands of dollars for a seat to watch him fight Pacman. Floyd made more in that fight than Ronda makes in her whole MMA career.

Sub - 14s
TKO - 16s
TKO - 66s

That's 4 finishes in 2 minutes and 10 seconds.

Floyd has gone 216 minutes with 0 finishes.
GSP has gone 175 minutes with 0 finishes.

So, yeah, she probably earned that award.

Roger Gracie competes in local/regional BJJ tournaments and sub all his opponents in 30 seconds.

Bucheca competes in international BJJ tournaments and wins all his matches by decision.

Who do you think deserve the best grappler award?

I'm sure floyd would have KO's too if he were fighting a bunch of amateur fighters.

If Rousey embarrasses Cyborg for 25 straight min, then you could have a case, but this is an insult to to people like robbie lawler and cerrone who have been beating top competition recently.

Give Rousey the "most popular mma fighter" award, but don't give her the "best/most dominant fighter award."
 
Ronda's last 4 opponents were 41-5 and Ronda finished them in a combined 130 seconds.



Also, the Espys are fan voting. Do you cry about likes in Facebook? Because this is the same.
