Does promo videos, interviews and trash talk to promote the fight do anything to you guys?

It certainly nice to see trashing each other before the fight but with some fighters it feels...artificial.

Look, all of a sudden we got Diaz all over the place, TV shows, Kimmel, O'Brian etc.

I feel like he dont really want to do it, he have to because its his contract obligation, but I dont get that vibe as I have with Mcgregor. He is a born trash talker, love media and attention big time and it works for him.

But man, forcing Diaz to do all this? He dont feel natural at all to me, very forced. Like this Mcgregor fans talking behind his back and he suddenly pops up. He dont really give a shit what people are talking behind his back, you know what I mean?

    What you guys think?

The late night show stuff is not for us, it's to try and pull in casuals and get the fight out there into the mainstream.

Of course it does. Look at everyone buying into Conor. Guy is trolling all of North And South America.

I'd say by the numbers generated and popularity with fighters who are loud and outspoken, it's a winning formula.

Personally, I can appreciate BOTH types of fighters - the guys who are quiet but get shit done in the cage, as well as the dudes who talk massive shit and are entertaining.

only Nate did this for me recently. I don't even watch that stuff and when I do, I feel ashamed for the people trash talking. most of them really suck at it. feels like Ross and Chandler talking trash dressed in silly costumes in that friends episode...

Yeah, if the guys are good at it, it makes the fight much more interesting. Also I think Nate's having fun with it and doing a lot of different things. The fact is he is rightfully the face of this fight. So I think anything that brings heat to a match up is good and increases my interest and Nate seems to be doing great with the media stuff.

Yeah, not gonna lie, it does... Even though most of it is probably fake. But when its real, it makes it way more interesting.

Unfortunately, it does. I wasn't overly excited for Anderson/Chael until Sonnen started running his mouth. Maybe it is childish that trash talk sparks my intrigue a little more but I refuse to apologize

I actually feel like Nate Diaz is enjoying this. I wouldn't be surprised if he listens to remixes like this in his spare time...

Some people like Chael and Conor have some fun with it and that makes it fun for me.

Watching people do it because they feel they need to is like watching a bad standup routine. It's false and grating. And then there's the Dillashaw school of monosyllabic saltiness, which is also not much fun.

    I don't listen to podcasts.
I don't follow anyone on Twitter
I watch UFC fights while the tv is on mute.

So, no. None of that impacts my viewing of potential fights.

Nate absolutely does not give a fuck but I still thought that it was pretty funny.

And now I have faces to put with the Conor fans who post here.;)

I watch the fights anyways. But i like to see this sport grow into main stream and get more viewers. I want this sport to last and that means pulling in people who dont already know these guys. I like the smack talk because sometimes its funny. If your good at it itll make you a star. But youve got to ultimately perform in the octagon.
