Social Does New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo deserve an EMMY Award?

I am not an American but Cuomo seemed like he geninuely cares about his people and was fighting covid19 with passion. This thread is disrespectful. Threads like this shouldn't be allowed here because the guy was truly fighting Covid19 with passion and atleast you gotta respect that despite political differences

You may not be an American, but apparently you are an idiot.

You have no clue. Go get one before you make another post.

If you think fighting COVID with passion involves the following:

Stuffing infected senior citizens into nursing homes, killing them by the 10’s of thousands

Refusing to use a hospital ship you requested to spite the President

Refusing to buy ventilators because they were manufactured by a firearms manufacturer and instead paying more and waiting longer for imported ventilators from China while people died

Telling people at the onset of the virus that Trump was overreacting and that people should go out, party, live as usual and take the subway

Lying to the office of the president about how many ventilators you need

Lying to the media about hospitals being overrun

.....

Then you are a fully misinformed idiot.

Nursing home deaths prior to June doesnt count, because they were CDC guidelines and was common practice among both Republican and Democrat Governors.

Cuomo made mask wearing mainstream in America. If anything, he's a hero.

Yes. Like I said in the other thread. He's the only United States leader to conquer the trumpvirus.

The nursing home was CDC guidelines, many other great Governors did it too, Big Gretch, Phil Murphy, etc.

New York is at 3% right now, and has one of the highest test rates in the world
Because everyone already died

Plus the Navy shops basically weren't used at all. Cuomo didn't use them out if spite against Trump. Let the defenders think about that. Cuomo didn't use naval resources because he hates Trump. Cuomo is s petty pathetic man who screen up the hardest and blamed Trump for his own massive mistakes.
Like + prayer for you

$21 million hospital built for coronavirus victims in New York closes without ever seeing a patient

but muh hospital is overcapacity

The directive to send patients back to nursing homes was in March.

That hospital wasn't ready until May.

Maybe you shouldn't stop reading the second you think you've read something that serves your narrative.

Also, the new facilities that never saw a patient were precautionary and made superfluous by the effective effort to flatten the curve in New York.

What on Earth are you talking about? Are you a Fox employee? Those were their talking points.

That's a lot of misinformation so I'm just going to focus on this:

The 1,000-Bed Comfort Was Supposed to Aid New York. It Has 20 Patients.

On top of its strict rules preventing people infected with the virus from coming on board, the Navy is also refusing to treat a host of other conditions. Guidelines disseminated to hospitals included a list of 49 medical conditions that would exclude a patient from admittance to the ship.

Ambulances cannot take patients directly to the Comfort; they must first deliver patients to a city hospital for a lengthy evaluation — including a test for the virus — and then pick them up again for transport to the ship.

It is known.

It was meant for spillover patients and barely used. That is the point.

The only thing Cuomo deserves is to be in prison.

It is known.

Patients were refused by the ship, THAT is what's known.

Don't you remember the outrage when this was happening?

Hospitals desperately needed help, the ship arrived but took barely any patients as a result of their 49 rules. They weren't only refusing Covid patients (who were refused 100%), there were a host of other conditions that weren't accepted.

I remember interviews with medical staff in NYC hospitals at the time where they asked what the hell was the point of sending it if it wasn't going to help.

The ship was eventually pressured into accepting more patients.

I find it incredibly disheartening how these things are spun. While the left spins every trivial thing, the right straight up lies about what actually happened, and people believe it. I can barely imagine what you guys will be saying a year from now, probably something about Cuomo roaming the streets of NYC with a super soaker filled with virus spraying homeless people.

They were never going to accept Covid patients. They weren't meant for spillover. Apparently they only intended to treat other conditions, and those were never the problem. The hospitals had thought they were going to get help with the Covid patients.

Hospital leaders said they had been exasperated by the delays.

Mr. Dowling said he has had to tear his hospitals apart, retrofitting any unused space, including lobbies and conference rooms, into hospital wards. His facilities now house 2,800 so-called Covid patients, up from 100 on March 20, he said. About 25 percent of those are in serious conditions in intensive care units.

Across the city, hospitals are overrun. Patients have died in hallways before they could even be hooked up to one of the few available ventilators in New York. Doctors and nurses, who have had to use the same protective gear again and again, are getting sick. So many people are dying that the city is running low on body bags.

At the same time, there is not a high volume of noncoronavirus patients. Because most New Yorkers have isolated themselves in their homes, there are fewer injuries from car accidents, gun shots and construction accidents that would require an emergency room visit.

Ultimately, Mr. Dowling and others said, if the Comfort refuses to take Covid patients, there are few patients to send. And given the pernicious spread of the disease in New York City, where nearly 50,000 were infected as of Thursday, dividing patients into those who have it and those who do not is pointless, he said.

33,696 deaths. The worst in the 50 states.
let's just act like New York did a great job. If we say it enough times people will believe us.

Densest population and they got it first, before anyone had any idea how to treat patients. OF COURSE they had the worst death count. When this first started ventilators were actually killing people and nobody understood the cytokine storm.

We had big outbreaks in Montreal at around the same time and it was the same disaster on a smaller scale, because NYC has five times the population in a slightly less than twice the area. Our concentrations of death were similar.

He wont even admit sending covid positive patients back to nursing homes was a bad idea.

This is like the head honcho just awarding their friend because well they are from the same crew. This reminds me when ESPN gave the ESPY brave hero award or whatever over that young basketball player with brain cancer to Bruce Jenner for becoming a transgender after he just killed a woman by rear ending her while looking at his text messages.

Come on man!

“The Governor’s 111 daily briefings worked so well because he effectively created television shows, with characters, plot lines, and stories of success and failure,”

Gov Andrew M Cuomo of NY will receive the International Emmy Founders Award in recognition of his leadership during the Covid19 pandemic & his masterful use of TV to inform & calm people around the world.

for acting like he has any compassion he sure does

Trump is not responsible for everything that happens in every state, dummy. He isn't the one making the decisions. Also, is Trump also the responsible for what's happening in europe? Because this is affecting ev everyone. Does this mean Trump is on the same level of all the other leaders? In that case, are they all horrible, or is Trump not that bad? Plus, if leftist garbage policies work so well, why did so many people die in NY?
Don't bother, that dude has TDS almost as bad at queenb

It’s a funny thing.

The worse a situation is, the more credit those in office get.

Like all that credit Bush and Guiliani got after 9/11. Neither of them did anything spectacular.

And now Cuomo is the guy who “knows” how to handle Covid-19? LOL, he sucks, his state has been terrible through this!

They parrot the nursing home deaths but ignore the 200k+ deaths caused by Trump's incompetence and say "they were all old and gonna die anyway"
