If Sage is more Hyped it's only because he's been in the UFC longer. I'd say Gall is overhyped too. Both came off Looking For A Fight, yet Gall has pretty much an unproven record. Yes he's 3-0 but the combined record of the guys he's faced is 0-3. Gall has got a lot of recognition for beating Brooks ( who was how old and trained for MMA for how long?). Sage at least has won against some fighters with more than ZERO fights under their belt.
I think this fight all depends where it goes, most are saying Gall will win by submission. Every fight starts on the feet. If it's true Sage has improved and been working a lot on his TDD, uses distance and his Karate movement the fight may just be contested on the feet. Nobody knows what Mickey's standup looks like, it's a bigger unknown than Sage's ground game.
That being said, I do think both guys are very young and have the ability to grow leaps and bounds between fights. So we won't know who has improved and by how much since their last fight.
By all accounts it does look like Gall is a very motivated and very hard worker. If Tristars Firaz says Gall is a better student and harder worker, well that could be a BIG factor. From what we've seen it looks like Sage is under his fathers influence and seems a bit immature but decent guy. Mickey from what we've seen looks to be a very good alround guy. The story of him not giving up and helping his older sister get off drugs in my book shows dedication, heart and loyalty. How can one not like him.
I want Gall to win this fight but there are a lot of unkowns surrounding his game. I think he can win if he gets the fight to the ground. That all depends on how Sage has improved with his TTD ad how he uses his movement, distance and striking. At the end of the day i give Sage the edge via experience and quality of fighters faced.
