Does McGoat have the second easiest path to a title fight?

Hes probably the least qualified title challenger in the modern era of MMA.

In their last fights before fighting Aldo

Mendes 2: Guida and Nik Lentz. 2 guys tailor made for Mendes, both worse wreslters with worse striking

Mendes 1: Decisions over Rani Yahya and Omigawa.

Florian: Got beat up by Gray Maynard (loss) and then beat Diego Nunes

Edgar: 2 controversial losses to Henderson at LW. Still on a 2 fight losing streak and gets the shot.

Zombie: D'arce's porier in a back and forth (great) fight. KO's Mark Homminick in 7 seconds

Lamas: Erick Koch, Swanson and decisions Porier.


McGregor: KO's Porier in 90 seconds and decisions Holloway. ?KO's Siver?

Apart from Lamas, who's record before fighting Aldo is much better than McGregors?

Dan Hardy got an easy road to his title shot as well.
 
TJ got his by losing to Assuncao and beating Easton, who was on a 2-fight losing streak.

Barao by beating Jorgensen and Pickett.

Moraga by beating Cariaso & Gomez.

Mendes by beating Guida, Elkins and Lentz

Edgar got his by moving down to FW, Florian by beating Nunes, who's now cut.

KZ by beating Poirier, who Conor already beat, yet here he is fighting again in a non-title main event.

Plenty of others! Randy coming out of retirement as a LHW and a loss to beat Timmay! Anderson Silva beating Rich Franklin after one UFC win over Chris Leben! Dan Hardy beats a bunch of nobodies to fight GSP! Meisha Tate getting finished by Cat Zingano only to get title shot and TUF coaching gig due you injury to Cat! McGregor ko'd Brimage who was on a 4 fight win streak. He's the only guy to beat Max Hollaway soundly. He destroyed Ultimate Fighter winner Diego Brandao in Dublin. And he just ko'd top 5 fighter Dustin Poirier rather easily. People doubting The GOAT are ignorant and will soon be calling him Champ!

Never did understand that one. It was forgotten cause he proved to be the real deal

He's been fighting good competition but not strong competition. If Conor beats Siver and fights Also next, the jump in the MMA level from Siver/Poirier to Aldo is very high. Aldo is the guy that has beat proven FW fighters and a former LW champ. Tough seasoned vets, good submissions artists, good strikers, good wrestlers, everybody.

How was Poirier a top 5 fighter? Because he beat Diego Brandao? Akira Corassani? Erik Koch? Max Hollaway?

He's not even in the FW division anymore.

Kudos for stepping up to save card and all but that was a complete farce

BTW silva got an early title shot but he murdered Leben and I think they had a fan vote or something for next contender
