Ahmad: please go to a gym and get some proper instruction.

Depends on the gym. Going to a typical fitness gym will be a waste of time and will teach him the wrong things. However, if he has a good powerlifting or Olympic lifting gym near him then he should check that out.

The easy thing to do right now is read the FAQ.

It's difficult to learn proper lifting form without any kind of instruction.

a fitness gym is a whole lot worse than learning by yourself. many myths still persist to this day, for instance squatting hurts the knees ! that little diddy is still believed.

If you're talking Olympic lifts then I would agree, it can be done but a coach is a huge help. If you're talking about squat, deadlift, bench and overhead press then I disagree, you can learn them very well with some research and a video camera. You will find that a lot of people on those forum are self-taught and have solid form.

This.

All you need is patience, lack of an ego, an explanation on how to perform the lift, videos of yourself performing said lift, comparing your lifts with other lifters exhibiting proper form, and so on. Or even easier, just posting your video online and getting tips.

Yes, lifting is bad. It will stunt your growth, ruin your back and knees, and is just generally terrible.

Stop lifting RIGHT NOW.
