He does this after fights sometimes, exiting the cage. So yeah, probably pretty awful knees at this point given his wrestling career and style.Bad shoulders and bad knees, supposedly he has to walk down stairs backwards according to what he said on Rogan.

probably. i feel like all of my toes break as soon as i get back into jiu jitsu. can only imagine what multiple two a days, fight camps, prior martial arts careers does to the body. thats why they all on the roids.
Thank you for such a concise answer. Makes you wonder why he's the most reported one. Wrestling at that level for around 8 years... I'm sure a lot of fighters have done thatYou think jiu jitsu is bad on your joints? You should try Judo and Wrestling....Theres a reason why so many BJJ schools have guys start on their knees and they all suck at takedowns...Because takedowns are big boy stuff where your body falls apart. Usman wrestled 3 years in highschool, 4 years in college and then after college did freestyle at the Olympic training center in hopes to make the 2012 team but by 2011 he was so banged up and derailed by injuries he wasn't going to make it to the 2012 trials so instead of healing up and hoping for the 2016 year he decided to go into MMA instead. His knee problems are over a decade old.
Also mentioned avoiding walking on concrete/tar and walking in grass when he can because it’s easier on his knees. Crazy he’s this high level with knees that shotBad shoulders and bad knees, supposedly he has to walk down stairs backwards according to what he said on Rogan.

Off the top of my head, Askren had a hip replacement post-career, Frankie Edgar clearly had a shot back and several surgeries on it by the time he was nearing the end at FW, Sherk retired due to in juries, etc. A lot of it also just comes down to style hiding the damage. DC's knees are no doubt in bad shape, but he primarily leaned on trips and single legs instead of power doubles during his career. Jones doesn't just strike more because he likes it, it's almost certainly because his body doesn't allow him to wrestle like he used too.Thank you for such a concise answer. Makes you wonder why nobody attacks them or why his problems don't reveal themselves in the fight
No real way to know how Khabib's joints were doing, but the fact that he got injured so often kind of demonstrates the toll wrestling takes.Khabib and the daggies have been wrestling since they were in their wombs but they're mostly still fine.
