Does having incompetent judges encourage finishes?

Phrases like "Never leave it in the hands of judges" exist due to poor judging.

One upside is that fighters are encouraged to go for knockouts/submissions.

If judges weren't horribly unreliable I think we'd have more point fighters.
 
I don't think so. Some guys are just not good at finishing fights. They would rather point fight, hoping they would get the dec. Normaly guys with bad cardio go balls to the wall in the first round. Good cardio=don't mind point fighting. Bad cardio=hell no.
 
yellow cards encouraged finishes.

imagine GSP in pride... every match would end with a disqualification.
