I do not have ADHD (attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder), but I have some level of ADD (Attention-deficit disorder) although for some reason, the latter is not an actual diagnosis). I can sit and play chess games for hours (I used to in high school). I literally never cut people off in conversation. However, in some ways I can get distracted.
Long Zoom webinars are almost impossible for me to pay attention to, which is part of why I hate working from home. Even trying to grade a ton of papers/essays, I can only do so many in a row before I lose interest and need to decompress. Usually idling on Sherdog or other websites. Or sometimes reading crap and realizing I didn't absorb anything it said because my mind was elsewhere. I'd like to think it's some sign of a creative or active mind or something flattering.
In any case, I decided to try Strattera last week. It is a slow acting alternative to another stimulant the doctor mentioned (I'm assuming Ritalin). Takes about a week to build up, and is non-addictive. Had a few weird side effects. The first day I felt a little crankier than usual... just a bit blah, but I was catching a cold so it is hard to pinpoint what it was... I also felt extremely exhausted, and... well... this post on Reddit explains it.
Has anyone else tried it? If so, how'd it work? Any feedback?
