Imo, Garbrandt is still one of the very best at BW, better than Cruz, I think he beats Moraes, but obviously Dillashaw has finished him twice now.. Cejudo vs. Garbrandt would be interesting.

So, does he knock Munhoz out and get back on track?

In my opinion, Munhoz is probably the most-winnable fight in the 135 top 5 for Garbrandt. He isn't particularly powerful (especially has a lack of power in his hands), he is very hittable (has little-to-no head movement) and just sits there to be hit. He doesn't have a very good takedown game, but he does have a nice guillotine when he can force his opponents to shoot in.

I like Munhoz, but I would be very surprised if he were to overcome and beat Garbrandt here.

    Thoughts?

I have little faith in Munhoz after losing to someone like Rivera.

This is a favorable style match for cody but Munhoz has several advantages such as durability, jiu jitsu, and fight iq(watch his fight against Russell Doane) plus he has underrated power.

I can see cody beating Pedro for 2 rounds and than getting clubbed and subbed

Dangerous fight for Garbrandt, you can't afford to make any mistakes against Munhoz.

he has a pretty solid puncher's chance in the fight, but he is also in danger. Munhoz doesn't really lack power. He doesn't have a ton but he isn't afraid to throw down and counter and Garbrandt doesn't have a good chin.

Garbradnt has two paths to victory. Counterpunch knockout and boxing Munhoz to a decision. The first is more likely but I would be really impressed if he could fight smart and composed and do the later.

I'm picking Munhoz via finish though. I think his offense is more well rounded and he's just tough and game. his meh defense is a liability though.

Munhoz will find a way. He has good leg kicks and the best guillotine. He trained with Anderson and machida back when it was still cool

I think so, Munhoz is tough and he hits hard. Garbrandt can actually pick his shots and be methodical if he wants to. That plus the power leads me to believe Cody, but we're getting a good fight regardless. Munhoz is a tough ass dude with amazing jitz. Not afraid to sling leather, but not the most clean.

Munhoz is no easy fight, for sure

I do feel like a lot of folks are underrating Cody after those TJ losses

and I get it on a certain level. His tactics were super suspect, and he paid for it

I think, if he’s made the proper adjustments, he can get right back in there

Thats how I see it too. Both of those TJ fights I was like....where is the other guy who outclassed Cruz? WTF is he doing?

Excellent defensive boxing then uses none of it.

At least he didn't move down and get starched in under a minute.

It is definitely possible, Moraes is pretty hittable and Garbrandt is much faster in the pocket when firing back. His kicks are something to worry about though.
