Does female marketability in MMA have anything to do with personality or are looks all important?

Looks are all important, that's why UFC made a whole new division just for Cyborg.
 
Hey it's a male-dominant market. Who cares about their personality? As long as they have some ass it's all fine
 
Rousey and Cyborg are two of the biggest names.... So no, its not all about looks

You have to be incredibly dominant, at some point.
 
Looks are always important in pretty much every walk of life.

Miesha is one of the next biggest names after Ronda and she's never been that dominant, she's one of the most skilled though.

I guess it's a combo, you have to have a certain level of skill and then looks can push you above your peers. Even PVZ qualifies as having that minimal level of skill, she beat Herrig and there are equally or better looking girls who aren't good enough to reach her level (eg. Curran).
 
Joanna J is a great fighter ,wouldn't say she got where she is off good looks.

It's always going to be easier to market good looking fighters ,men or woman. Ya think Conner and GSP would have as many followers? They have LoTS that are women

Yeah, theres no clear cut equation to figure it out.

Like PVZ, she's terrible but she might very well pull off some good numbers if she ever fought for the title.

Miesha was seen as the hottest female UFC fighter by the mainstream media + She was around for a very long time + Her beef with Rousey gave her a popularity boost. I guess you can explain her popularity with these..
 
Personality trumps looks for sure....It has a huge impact on any aspect of your life...social, professional, familiar, etc..... I know extremely incompetent people who made it to the top because they are charmy as fuck. And i've seen fugly guys hitting 10's. You won't do much with a good looking body alone.
 
For me as a fight fan it has nothing to do with it as i can enjoy Sarah Kaufman as much as Michelle Waterson in the cage.

When i'm falling asleep after a bunch of sleeping medication and trying to finish before my brain shuts off Michelle matters more in that regard.
