it is a coalition government. It is mostly far right but yeah there are legit ´centrists 'who are fine with some liberal stuff hence wanting to join the EU. 2. More importantly... the Russians couldn't even beat the Taliban. Conventional war is actually what the US military is built for and good at.

1) The US failed to beat the Taliban under Trump and under Obama and under Biden

2) It was the Soviet Union technically and that isnt even relevant to our situation as you are talking about an event from OVER 30 years ago.
