Make Valentina Shevchenko any more legitimate as a champion than Montaño? I would love to hear your view on this.

We know she's 100x more skilled than either of those chicks, so yes.

Right now, there is no such thing as "undisputed champion" at W125.

Former #1 Jennifer Maia just lost to Liz Carmouche, who previously lost to Alexis Davis, who now lost to Katlyn Chookagian.

Undisputed #1 women flyweight will be determined around the end of 2019.

Which is exactly my point. If that's the case, which it most likely is, how does beating them make her an earned champion if Montaño beating Modafferi means nothing?

Shevchenko overall is a curious case here.

I think every possible top 10 P4P list of WMMA in the world will include her name.
    That's a fact.
She always was undersized for 135 and her recent loss to Nunes is connected by many to exact this matter.
    That's another fact.

Did she do anything significant in 125? No, not yet. But overall impression that the 2 facts above makes is that she's queen of 125

I don't get your point. If we agree she's clearly much better, then she deserves to be the champ much more, no?

What she did at 135 has absolutely nothing to do with 125 even though I get your angle of approach. The p4p argument fair enough.

But then why isn't Montaño considered a legitimate champ by others when she was better than the chicks she beat?

Because we can easily evaluate her skills and tell she just isn't that good lol. Maybe she'll surprise everyone during the fight with Valentina but I seriously doubt it.

But there is always a new champion better than the former? Isn't that the point of a title defense? How good the former champ is is not relevant? Educate me if I'm not making sense.

That's your opinion and I respect it. I think the ref could have stopped it earlier.

Yes, because Montano beat Lauren Murphy, Barb Honchak, and Roxanne.

And after she beats Montaño, who would she have beaten in the division?
