Does anyone else think Alstair Overeem should wrestle a LOT more?

I feel like his physicality would help with that. I feel like hes not really built (muscle wise) to be a striker and it would help if he wrestled/GnP'ed much much more.

Wrestling and grappling is far more tiring than striking. If Overeem want to incorporate more grappling, he's going to need far more cardio than he's ever showcased.

Well he's primarily a striker but he could wrestle a little more. The way he was able to put bigfoot against the cage showed his strength. The take down was nice as well. He's freakishly strong. He was pretty relaxed in the first two rounds slipping Bigfoot's punches but when he finally got caught with one in the third round his chin came back into play. Gotta keep your hands up against those heavyweights.

Well unfortunately for Overeem, Silva won the 1 out of 1 they've had.

He should just accept the fact that he'll never be the UFC HW champ as long as Cain and JDS are around.

He needs to improve his cardio if he wants to grapple

Instead, we should be asking why Antonio Silva insists he's a BJJ black belt when he can't get off his back against a non-grappler like Overeem. Forget about Overeem's size. Maia is one of the most decorated BJJ guys in the world, yet Fitch a black belt himself was able to get up and/or fight off submissions.

And people want to see him get murdered by Cain again. I'd MUCH rather see Werdum in there, much tougher matchup imo

first thing he should do is keep his hands up and stop smiling if he's gona get ko'ed. he needs to take his fights serious. bigfoot ain't no brock, he's a legit hw. along with many other fighters he's probably underestimating. and yea then cardio could help him. he's obviously more then strong enough but strength is useless if ur ntoo tired to use it.

If you've been following Overeem's career, you'll know he grapples quite a bit. He began to grapple less because he found out his cardio is shit.

He was smoking BF in the clinch everywhere but decided to fight ''

Overeem has 19 victories via submission...

He has a decent top game that is probably a little underused, but he definitely needs better cardio if he wants to grapple for three rounds.

maybe someone should tell him to hold his hands up. IN particular, when he's up 2 rounds to nothing he should fucking hold his hands up.

He wasn't smoking bigfoot anywhere. He got points for control on the ground and against the cage, but he wasn't doing any damage for all the effort he was putting in.

silva had nothing for him, and was dominated. reem took him to the ground easy in round 2. if you're a bigfoot fan, you should like that he won, but it doesn't show that he's got skills to go anywhere
