Does anyone consider Aldo/Jung a legit finish?

Correct me if i'm wrong... if you don't think Aldo vs Jung was a freak injury, then why would you think different about Anderson/Weidman 2? Leg check is a common defensive technique. You could argue then that Aldo had excellent technique by blocking Jung's punch causing him to dislocate his shoulder. IMO it was a very unlikely freak injury. Chris was beating that ass in the 1st no doubt though, still doesn't make it a legit finish

edit: Saying weidman had a legit finish is similar to saying someone who broke his hand on someone forehead trying to punch him (then could not continue) had a legit loss. I just can't see something like that as a legit victory... and I was rooting for Weidman

It was a legit finish.

If I recall, Aldo also kicked KZ's knee due to a check, threw one more kick and realized he wasn't going to throw another one. If Aldo couldn't continue it would have been a legit finish there as well. Aldo's win was legit and so was Weidman. ps I was rooting for KZ.

Never seen a more booty-blasted fan base. It was a "legit" loss. Cro Cop has three legit wins over Barnett, Weidman has two legit wins over Silva.

So youre saying Aldo legit BEAT jung because of his dislocated shoulder.

Same amount of legitimacy. The guy who was winning the fight won via a flukey injury. Unfortunate, but still legitimate.

It was indeed all weidman, haters gonna hate though. Love A.Silva to death, but Weidman made that adjustment. Silva paid for it.

Throwing a punch and your shoulder popping out is an accident (aldo vs zombie)

Backing up and tearing something in your leg without getting hit is an accident (manuwa vs Jimmo)

Defending a leg kick that leads to the person hurting themselves IS NOT an accident. A freak/rare occurrence yes, but accident? No. You check leg kicks to defend yourself AND hurt your opponent, after they get hurt from the checked leg kicks most fighters slow down or stop throwing them all together (See: aldo vs zombie and his FOOT did in fact break, could have just as easily been his shin)

Self quote, but yeah this covers how i feel about that fight.

Ts, you're grasping VERY VERY hard.

Edit: wrong quote the first time

Aldo beat Jung fair and square. He did it like an asshole, but he beat him fairly.

The only one I can think of recently that would be remotely unfair would have been Jones v Sonnen, which Jones won anyway.

Honestly, Jung was doing pretty good in that fight IMO. I think his strategy was to open up more in the later rounds. He did a good job defensively, and stifled alot of what Aldo threw. I didnt have him winning the rounds, but he certainly wasnt getting dominated like alot of Aldos opponents. I think he was about to make that fight crazy as hell with Aldo.
It was a win yes, but cmon, I am interested in a rematch personally.

If it wasn't legit then it be ruled a no contest.

It would be more akin to break your opponent hand by making him punch your elbows.

A fights a fight.. In a real fight if you break your bone against your opponent who do you think would be considered the winner?

Aldo's finish was legit. So was Weidman's. This may come as a shock, especially to many pointfighting fans, but durability actually matters in a fight.

Weidman won the fight by using a technique known to break the other fighters leg. The technique he used was different than the one most fighters in mma use to check leg kicks. He used the area just below his knee where most fighters use the area just above the ankle to check kicks. Watch a muay thai fight it happens quite often there. Also Ernesto Hoost used the same technique to break Ray Sefo's leg
